As I just put it on, I cannot comment yet on performance, but I can witness the use and installation of it. Being able to use Velcro (hook and loom) is a huge plus! Installation is made much easier with this product. However, if the inside of the bag is tight, it can be a real hassle to wrap it over and close it properly. If you can wrap the wires around the vehicle first, that would be best. While this doesn't negate the need to utilize convoluted tubing, it should be noted that it doesn't replace it. Yes, you can just wrap this around a bunch of loose wires, but you are probably better off putting the wires inside tubing and wrapping that with this I think it will be the best defense against the wires as well as the best look. This sleeve is very versatile due to its variable length. Therefore why is there no star on the front? You're going to cut the sleeves to length (let's be honest, I'm sure). There is a weak closing at the loom for the hook and loop because of unravelling threads at the end. So, you may either break out the needle and thread or lean on the needle. Whichever you choose, I recommend you do the following I. - You'll have to cut if you must. The tube should be cut only from one end. The other end should be left at the *Also, 2. You should make your sleeves long enough so the incinerating heat sources are well away from the end of the sleeve. 1. 2. 3. Place the sewn end of the product at the hottest part of the garment, so that the cut end is away from heat sources.
There were some air lines running in my engine compartment that kept blowing out over time As a result of wrapping the lines in this, the lines do not appear to have any issues since then.
Just received it yesterday and attached to a 5/16 fuel line. Please second the earlier comment about the threads coming apart. I installed it then removed the Velcro and reattached the Velcro. As the thread holding one side of the Velcro began to unravel, the Velcro started falling off. If I continue to mess with it, it seems like it is going to unravel faster and faster. As of now, I intend to get some wire and wind it around the top and bottom of the body. I don't anticipate that the Velcro attachment will be used permanently as a way to hold the scarf in place, but it looks like it should hold up as intended as far as heat goes.
I was looking for something to protect transmission lines that were too close to exhaust. This is exactly what I needed.
Rather durable, but I have not worn it for a long time so I cannot comment then.
Using this for oil lines and fuel lines in close proximity to exhaust works great. Be sure to zip tie the ends in order for them not to come free.
Compared to other doll clothes, Barbie clothes come with better Velcro. VELCRO! I can't stand it! This is not to be trusted! After the first ride, the bike came loose. Compared to Barbie doll clothes, the velcro is better.
The system seems to work fine. While the picture I bought made it look black, the silver is actually metallic in color.
