Questions & Answers
Despite the fact that you ask a very difficult question, the wrap is 7"x1' as stated on the label.
* Bought a starter kit for my SBC I am not sure I had enough wrapping left over to wrap my fuel filter too ( if I cut it off )
It is unclear what the question is asking. You have an oil leak in your alternator? I love it. If they stay on, then you are free to leave them Those are two different matters.
We used it on a starter for a Binn transmission that goes on a late-model dirt car, but we're not sure if it worked

It might be time to update this review to "Hate It' if the product is unreliable.
I read other reviews and was able to secure the blanket to the starter with a few stainless steel zip ties I purchased. Here's what you need to do. It would be better if you used stainless steel zip ties, the Velcro and quality of this product are poor. In addition to attaching the blanket to the starter, I found that I needed to take the starter out in order In my attempt to remove the product, I found that the Velcro ripped the foil mat apart. You I wrapped this around my starter, just once, and then proceeded to remove the product so I could remove the start from the car and trim the product. The Velcro left a thin piece of foil mat hanging off the product. The alarm alarmed me and I was Wow, what a novel idea to attach a starter shield to a starter) I attached the blanket with stainless zip ties after I trimmed it The zip ties should be stainless steel! Have some delivered right away!.
It's a good product for those seeking an immediate solution. After about a season, though, the foil begins to fall apart due to its thin and flimsy quality. It is possible to stick your own foil, but that is a bit As a result, it works very well until it falls apart. I already have two of them and plan to stick on some of my own foil to extend their lives. It's cool that Velcro has a hook and loop. When I take part in autocross, I use them to prevent exhaust manifold damage SUPERCAT temps from CAT Using an intake tube and throttle body to heat the air. The reflective surface helps to deflect radiant heat and force hot air rising from below to fall to the ground. It probably would have been better to actually make a custom wrap for the intake, but I've been too lazy to do so. It may take a little longer to cool the material after spraying with water, but I think it is helping to make the foil separate I have found some of DEI's items to be extremely useful in the past. I feel like it's over-extended a little LOL, I think the price is too high.
As long as you keep it away from heat sources, it is not a bad wrap. In addition, the listing does not mention that the package instructions state you should keep the wrap at least 2" away from any heat source so that the foil does not burn. In my experience with a full size late model starter and a block hugger, 2" isn't possible. This is also part of the reason a heat shield is needed.
This starter fits perfectly on my 1994 Harley Davidson Sportster, and it is easy to install. With regards to heat protection, I have not taken the temperature with the shield on, so I will have to follow up.
As described, the product worked exactly as it should, but once it was installed it hasn't made any difference. My issue may be as simple as that I need different headers and this isn't a good It was just that I wasn't able to get results. I would say so because it seemed to be as described.
Upon reading the instructions, you are told to You can see that Velcro strips that hold it on have come loose after you cut it. It cannot be held around the starter as it is right now due to the stitching on the Velcro.
It fits Ford Powerstroke starters perfectly. Installation is quick and easy, and it stays in place well. I believe these reflective materials, as well as the reasonably thick fibers, will provide more than adequate insulation for this application.
The starter heat shield on my '91 VW Cabriolet was missing (but the bracket that attached it was still there) and it was hard to find a new or used replacement. According to the dealer, there is one that would cost over $100 and could be found out of the country. Having found the Versa Shield Heat Wrap online, I was very happy with the price. However, my main concern was the fit and no indication that this product would do the job of protecting my starter & battery. An electrical solenoid can be damaged by It turned out to be good for both. In terms of its size, its width was perfect, but I had to trim a small amount of its length due to the velcro securement running through the material as it was wrapped, but that's okay because the fabric was intended to work that way to be universal.
