Selected User Reviews For Dorman 911-216 Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid for Select Ford / Lincoln / Mercury Models
Research led me to identify the Evaporative Canister Vent Solenoid Valve as the problem or the Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid as the cause of my 2012 Ford Focus pulling a P0456 code. In this light, I ordered the DORMAN 911-A A solenoid valve for an evaporative canister in the 216 and the Ford B6Z-2010 The 9D289-digit code Solenoids for purging vapor canisters are located at B. I no longer have to check the engine for MIL errors after clearing the code. While I had difficulties installing the Dorman part, I was not frustrated with the quality regardless of what other reviews indicate. For a 2012 Ford Focus SE 2, the Mortorcraft component is the correct part. In contrast to what Amazon says, the fitment does not exist.
In my car, I had a number of A perfect example of that was this. An error message was displayed stating that a new purge valve was needed. However, you have to drop the gas tank in order to install it. I ordered this particular part because it was twice as expensive at the auto parts store so I ordered it online. It seems to be the same part and it is identical. The only thing is that the mechanic had to remove the gas tank to install it because the gas tank is inside.
To access the gas tank, the car will have to be raised and the tank will have to be dropped. This value is I like it! Prices are almost half what you'd pay at auto stores and dealers. All is well. As a result, I will be recommending it. I no longer have the check engine light on and my rough idle has been corrected.
As expected, this fits and works perfectly. My issue ended up not being the issue, and it helped establish that it wasn't the issue. Be sure the solenoid is wired and is receiving the correct voltage before replacing it. There is no power under the truck and it appears my wiring is damaged.
It was easy to install the vapor canister vent valve. For the price, it is an excellent buy. The cost is a lot less than that of a dealership. If you want to have a reliable tool for your vehicle, consider a Dorman product.
Using this part, I was able to solve the problem of error code P1450 on my 2016 Ford Edge Titanium. I had difficulty applying sufficient force to make the new part click into place. A complete housing assembly had to be removed in order for this part to fit properly. Once that was done, the assembly box fit back in easily. Mechanic repair costs are saved by a few hundred dollars.
There is no difference between the quality and that of the dealer manufacturer. As a result of replacing it, the system is now working 100%, and the check engine light has gone away. The product looks good.
