In 2006, I had a Trailblazer with a check engine code relating to the fuel system emissions, and after I replaced the component and reset the codes, the code did not reappear. Located near the body to the right of the rear axle was the sensor. Moreover, there is a sensor in it as well as a filter. Making the change didn't take a long time. The only thing I can advise you is to good luck with it.
The GMP parts department can be found at gmppartsdepartment. Look it up on the website, don't guess and don't listen to Don't take anything at face value.
You should, but make sure the gas fill cap is tight and that it does not leak. It may be necessary to replace the canister vent valve if that does not work. There is no difference between them, so p0449 will appear
According to the code, the purge valve solenoid, not the vent valve, is the cause of the P0442 error. The purge valve in the envoy should be located just past the driver's side tire in the front of the vehicle. With the search term "Envoy purge valve solenoid", you should be able to find the part.

PO449 was the trouble code displayed on my 2007 Trailblazer. In the two weeks since, I have not had problems with this part. I installed it, removed the code, and it has not come back. It was a fairly To get the truck to idle, I had to lift the rear of the vehicle. It would be easy to get under there if you're thin you wouldn't have to lift the truck at all. I love it. It's best to be aware there is a clip attached to the hose that you must remove for this unit to be disassembled. It's highly likely that the clip will be broken. Most people seem to do this based on what I have read. So far, there have been no problems seeing from where the clip has been repaired. I tried putting both sides back in from the top down, but so far, they have remained in place as needed. Here is a link to Amazon where you can purchase replacement plastic clips. It costs $6, but it's a bargain. The clip was a lousy little plastic one for 94 cents each. You can find the clip here on Amazon under "Dorman 800-" if you need one for a 2007 Trailblazer (probably also covers other models). In this case, the '041 Global Fuel Retainer" is the component.
I was actually able to install it very easily. It did not require any jacking or anything like that. After a few minutes, I walked back to the rear to finish the job. Since removing my spare tire probably helped, I don't have to worry about it. You only need a pair of needle nose pliers for this job. The infamous plastic clip was the main reason for the switch. The thick hose with the white tip in the picture has the clip attached to it, you can see it in the photo. There is a horseshoe-like effect to the clip. The bit comes out really easy with just a little pressure, just push one side out with pliers. Once you have disconnected the hose, simply pull it back. Also, there's an easy to remove pigtail connector where you just get the tab off and wiggle it off. Secondly, on the bracket holding the vent valve, you'll see two holes that are lines with a metal tab in between, bend the tab up and tap off the valve. There was a little bit of sticky on mine, but I was able to get it out with a little tapping.
I was having a problem with a P0449 code on my 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer, so I searched the internet and found that the P0449 chip Although this appears to be a Purge Solenoid, I think this is rather a Vent It appears that Amazon has an incorrect description of the product. The check engine light went away after a few engine on/off cycles after I changed the old solenoid for this new one. We achieved success! Though it was a bit tricky, I was able to get the old solenoid off by lying on my back near the passenger rear tire. To begin, you'll need a small thin flat screw driver to manipulate the steel clip holding the solenoid on to The solenoid has to be able to move freely once the clip is bent enough to allow it to slide. Once you have removed the power attachment, close the connection. I had no problem with that. A connector has to be attached to the vent tube, and that is the hardest part. During my test, the connector had two black plastic clips that needed to be wiggled in opposite directions in order to loosen it. Put on the new one in the reverse direction after you take the old one off.
This vapor canister vent valve resolved the problem encountered on a 2004 Trailblazer that had the nozzle click off when refueling. This valve eliminated those occurrences.
I used this part on my 2008 Envoy. The rear end is located up above the top. This part is easy to install, but the clip that holds the tube to it breaks easily. With the help of a small zip tie, I was able to hold the sides of the clip in place so they could not come out when the tube was attached. P0449 is the engine code that I think I have. A code and an engine light came on, but there were no problems while running or fueling up. My order was delivered quickly and I was fixed up right away. I haven't had to reset the code in over 150 miles. The previous time, I would reset the code and it would be right back on within a few minutes. In my opinion, it's an A+++++.
It appears that this part is a used or refurbished one. There is actually a visible mark where the old hose clamp used to be. If you drop your fuel tank, you don't want to take a chance that a used part is going to hold up. Dropping again is the only way. It was especially disappointing when I had to buy a new part!.
Simply swap out this part to make it work. As I mentioned, I also replaced my gas cap since the trouble code exhibited by my check engine light pointed to this device. The gas cap only needed to be replaced since the cable to keep it connected when you fill up the tank had broken.
There are four cylinders in a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Engine code P0449 was displayed by the Service Engine light on a 2L engine. I ordered an OEM part from ACDelco and it worked perfectly. To save yourself a trip to the parts store, I highly recommend buying the fuel line clip. Glad that I did because it saved me time and money.
