This unit was created as a universal converter for a Grand Prix with a 3.0L engine from 2001. Engine displacement is 8 liters.
This isn't going to be a direct fit for your Impala. To make this converter fit, you'll need to modify your exhaust system.
I'm not sure; I have a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado that fits perfectly.

I didn't want to replace the cats until I knew what was wrong. Today was the day of the inspection! Build quality is excellent. Trust your purchase!.
I would highly recommend it; I'm still waiting to see if the check engine light stays off, but I suspect the old one had a lead coming from it as well, as I could smell it in the car. With part number $240, I got a great valve. 00 to have it set up. I have a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT that fits perfectly and has a cool sound. There is no load at all. I am very pleased with my purchase; this is my first time using a Walker product; however, I will need to update the engine light.
THA- ANK YOU! I AM HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE. The grandmother's car is in excellent condition. In the neighborhood, I'm having a good time. Happily.
For my TrailBlazer SS, this is an excellent product. Very nice sound, not too loud but with a lot of throatiness.
Similarly to the napa universal converter, napa simply applies a napa sticker to the walker one. They wanted 130 for theirs, so I bought some napas and compared them to this one. It's the same. It has a 5 id, which allows it to slide over the old exhaust pipe, making welding a little easier. Although I have not yet installed the assembly in my truck, it appears to be in good working order.
My exhaust now has a much deeper tone to it. I recently passed emissions with it as well. I am extremely pleased with the quality for the price 100% recommend.
