This did not fit my Prius C 2017 5D because it was much too small. I had to exchange it for one that had two pieces. So here's hoping the new one fits!

A few dealer parts are also available. Additionally, there is some extra cash. There's also data. The Catalytic Armor kit from Cap City is missing some pieces. Furthermore, the data is sporadic and inconclusive. br>On the Prius Gen4, the exhaust tunnel should have one, two, or three horizontal aluminum struts, but mine had none. br>Toyota Part: 57566- is what you need. 47030 $87 includes two struts as well as four mounting bolts for each strut. br>You can anchor and secure the front and back of the plate with two mounting struts. br>The Toyota Struts are a requirement for the installation. This is something Cap City fails to inform you of right away. The strut bolt sites are concealed by the plastic lateral undersurface panels, which must be removed. It's difficult, time-consuming, and extensive, which adds to the complexity and level of expertise required. br>The plate is then drilled directly into the struts, resulting in a solid and long-lasting structure. It's similar to securing planks to a beam with screws. To prevent easy removal, use a variety of security screws and rivets. br>Add locking washers and flat washers to the screw heads if necessary. The Prius has a low ground clearance. It's possible that 6-inch ramps won't suffice. A jack stand or an overhead rack might be required. br>br>The sum of the parts is: $135 for the Cap City Plate, $174 for two Toyota Struts, and $15 for Toyota Bolts and Screw Hardware equals $325 in parts. Adding $150 in labor equals $475. TOTALbr>br>Suggestions from the manufacturer to improve your product:br>Integrate two aluminum spanners at the top and bottom of your shield. br> Weld aluminum framing to your existing plate in square or rectangular shapes. br>Pre-drill holes that correspond to the holes in the Prius undercarriage. br>To mount it, all you'd need are eight large bolts. br>Don't even think about the screws. br>Welding the aluminum frame to the plate would cost an additional $40 in metal and $20. br>In addition, mounting it would save the customer nearly $200 and take less than 30 minutes.
Although this is a high price for a piece of metal, it is less expensive than replacing your catalytic converter. This isn't a user-friendly website. br>br> (Unless you're a mechanic) item that can be installed I was charged $110 by my neighborhood mechanic. Each of the three Priuses I brought in cost me 130 dollars. br>br>Before I installed this product, my mechanic informed me that it only covers one of my Prius's two catalytic converters. When I contacted the manufacturer, they informed me that thieves only target one of the CC's, which is the one that this shield protects. My mechanic also stated that the included fasteners were the wrong size, but he had proper fasteners and used them. br>br>However, this is not explained anywhere in the product description, user manual, or manufacturer website. br>br> You expect the correct fasteners in the box for the price you pay.
I am at a loss for words. Of course, I'm glad I had this installed on my car because I didn't want to risk the converter being stolen. I didn't have the skills or the tools to install it myself, so I had it installed by my mechanic. It was taken care of by them. However, we had to purchase additional braces from a Toyota dealership in order for the shield to be attached to something. So there you have it. My mechanic had to call a bunch of Toyota dealerships to find the braces and pick them up himself, so they gave me a discount of $100. On top of what I paid for the shield, I ended up spending around $470 on parts and labor. I'm glad it's all over, but I just wanted to let you know that you might need to spend a little more money on those braces.
I went to a muffler shop and paid $80 for the installation and additional items that were required. It was completed in under an hour. It was a perfect fit for my 2021 Prius.
Only the manual is a problem. I had to go to YouTube to learn more about how to do it.
The item was delivered on time and in good condition. It was a perfect fit for our Prius AWD from 2021. We've had a rash of credit card thefts, and we wanted to do something to deter or at the very least slow down would-be thieves. become crooks We needed to get a Floor Pan Reinforcement Brace (Toyota part number 57533-1). 47030) because only one of the two braces required for installation was present on the vehicle. I had to go to the auto store to get the bolts needed to attach the reinforcement brace to the car because it didn't come with them. Installed the car on the ramps and spent a couple of hours drilling holes in the shield to secure it to the reinforcement braces in a confined space. With the right tools and enough time, I don't think this shield will be able to stop a determined thief, and its removal should be difficult enough to cause the thief to move on to a less difficult target. I am pleased with my purchase. We'll have to wait and see if a thief is deterred by it.
" I'm glad it's on now. I placed an order for the part and had it installed by our family mechanic. Once my car was taken in, it took less than a half hour. It was supposed to be simple, according to them. br>br>When I first inquired about this, the service department at the local Toyota dealership had been unresponsive. They had never heard of a catalytic converter that was anti-oxidant. theft device and insisted on taking me to their body shop because it required welding (which it didn't, but they wouldn't believe me). I had the impression that they were going to put me through a lot of trouble and charge me a lot of money. I'm glad I purchased the part myself and helped the local economy.
It arrived the next day after I placed my order. It's a fairly simple install if you know what you're doing. I installed it in under an hour. All you'll need is a drill and a rivet gun, which will set you back around $20. The instructions were not very clear, and they used the wrong size drill bit for the security screw, which was 5/16, which was far too large. Apart from that, I'm happy with the product and it has given me peace of mind.
