This purge solenoid was purchased in order to replace one faulty in a 2017 Chevy Traverse that was throwing an error code P0496. Most likely, this is the result of the driver filling up the fuel tank during the refueling process. Easy to install (plumbing the driver's side of the engine closest to the grill is on the middle side). As soon as you remove the beauty cover (remove the oil cap, then the cover just snaps off), you will be able to see it. If you want to fix this, you have to first fix the underlying issue and let the ECU on the car deal with it.
The Cadillac SRX I own is a 2012 model. Because the valve is hidden behind the throttle body, it isn't visible from the front. It is easier to remove the throttle body air tube (easy) to take a closer look at the valve if the throttle body air tube is removed. It is easy to disconnect, although getting the wiring connection unplugged was the most challenging part. Once installed, I reconnected the wiring, checked my work, and I was able to start it immediately. After clearing the check engine light using my handheld code reader, I took my car for a test drive. It drives so much better now! It was a relief to not have to spend $400 for the dealer to do this.
It took me less than 15 minutes to install the purge valve on my 2016 Chevy Colorado truck. My truck computer has not given me this error anymore since I reset the code. I was able to get the job done as expected.
I had no issues installing it or figuring out how to use it. A 2013 GMC Acadia engine code indicated a very serious problem - you could tell something had gone very In this case, the engine ran very rough, it stalled at stop lights and stop signs, and it had a wobbly remote control Getting the engine to turn over would be a frustrating journey. Oh, and filling it with gas was exhausting. In the immediate aftermath of filling up, the car would require five to ten minutes of "rest" before it would start. *p>Fortunately, I have an OBD reader that says the recommended fix is to replace the Evap Canister Solenoid, or whatever it In my quest to find a new part for this car, I called around to a few shops and was shocked to find that it would cost over Thus, my wife and I got on Amazon, found this solenoid for under $30 and purchased it. After looking up a YouTube video to learn how simple it would be to replace, it appeared to be very straightforward. In the end, we ordered this solenoid and put it to the test. Rank amateurs like myself and my wife, who were using a jack to replace the defective part, fixed the car immediately. Immediately, the litany of problems observed above were resolved, and it ran like new again. The engine computer will clear all of the engine codes after a few days of light to moderate driving. This new part is such a departure from the defective one that I couldn't believe the difference. No matter how many times we say it, it cannot be stressed enough. The engine was like a new one!.
There was no denying that the oval was a disaster. It takes 15 minutes to fix the problem. The throttlebody was removed so it could be more easily accessed. Air was blowing right through the old valve, so it was definitely bad. By simply disconnecting the negative battery, I was able to restart my computer. An end station. While I do not know how much I saved, I am sure I saved more than the $27 it cost me for the part. OEM, I thought, would be a better choice. Ninety-nine thousand miles were covered by the original part.
My 2015 traverse was able to resolve p0496 error code after replacing this module.
It's used a lot and is holding up. I purchased this one a couple months ago and replaced it with one. This was only my second time doing it myself, and I did it in about 10 minutes, in about 10 degrees weather in North Wisconsin. One of the bolts is particularly tricky to reach. Instead of using your old bolt, use your new You will have to pay a shop up to $150 dollars to fix This task is easily accomplished by someone with access to YouTube who has an understanding of socket wrenches and has unclipped two things from each other during previous projects. You will need to unplug your battery before you do the manual check engine light reset and then you will need to reset your battery afterward. It is now possible to use the remote car starter that didn't work before, a possible sign that the purge valve is faulty. I appreciate you taking the time to read. With just a little bit of research and time, you can save money and be self-sufficient.
This is original equipment, there is nothing better! When I purchased my 2014 Buick in September 2020, I had a problem with the check engine light, took it back to the Chrysler dealership I purchased it from as it was still under warranty, and, in accordance with their legal obligations, they replaced the purge valve. As we enter the year 2021, I notice my car has developed an excessively loud ticking noise from the purge valve, and it often idles It came in today and I installed it. It is a new GM factory purge valve. I am stunned! Following refueling, there is no more annoying ticking and the engine is nice and smooth. This cheap aftermarket junk part lasted only 5 months, was a cheap aftermarket junk part. This just goes to show that OE is always the best choice! Hopefully, this one will stand the test of time.
