The flow of oil into the camshaft actuator is precisely controlled by a camshaft actuator solenoid, which is typically installed in the front of each cylinder head. This causes the camshaft to rotate in a different direction, allowing the valve timing and valve overlap to be adjusted on the fly. These solenoids control both the exhaust and intake camshafts, allowing for lower emissions and, in some cases, the elimination of exhaust gas recirculation valves, as well as improved performance and fuel economy.

They're simple to put together, but only time will tell how well they last

I installed them on a 2015 GMC Terrain 2 after I got home from work on October 9th. After I cleared the error code, the 4L Vehicle found no new issues, but it did find some old ones. However, I did notice that the old intake I removed had debris on it. br>I'm not sure if the dealer did an oil change before selling it to me, but it was a sold-as-is vehicle. To get to the solenoids on my vehicle, I needed an 8mm and a 10mm socket to remove the cover. I won't know how it works until I try to go to work with it. There will be no issues if there is no update to this review.

So far, it hasn't failed me

It's only been about 300 miles, so I'm not sure how valuable the money is yet. The part was replaced as soon as the CEL came on, so mileage was not affected. It is very simple to replace. It takes a little time to remove the clip so the plug can be removed, but once that's done, everything goes quickly. I was able to clear the CEL codes after installing these, which I couldn't do before.

A simple solution to a common issue

My previous vehicle was a 2016 GMC Terrain with a 2. P0011 is the code that 4L Ecotech has given me. I could clear the code, but it would reappear when the computer started up. I changed the oil and the filter, but the code remained. In less than 30 minutes, I was able to replace both the intake and exhaust actuators, and the problem was resolved. This is a fantastic, low-cost solution to a common issue.

The solenoids didn't make much of a difference, so I'll have to go out and buy some GM solenoids to get some that work.
