My 2008 GMC Envoy was giving me trouble with the dreaded P0014 code. The code continued to set even after replacing the vvt solenoid with a newer model. This part was added today without any issues. There is no longer any code. This is the part to use because the updated part with the longer spring over the mesh caused the exhaust cam phaser to stick open in my case. I'm overjoyed and thankful that this part worked! I replaced the solenoid and sensor, had the oil changed, used Sea Foam, and then had the oil changed again with no results. Then I added this section, and there you have it! There are no longer any issues.
I'm on my second one. I replaced my original with this, then ran a diagnostic test, which revealed that this unit was not communicating with other components in my 2004 Trailblazer, so I returned the first one and replaced it with a second one with the same results.
It appeared to be simple to set up and operate for about 9 hours. 10 weeks. This week, it began to leak oil. The original part had never leaked oil; it had simply become clogged, which is why I purchased this to replace it. When I'm stopped in traffic, my oil pressure gauge now reads zero. When driving, everything goes back to normal. I'm going to try a different brand because this one was only good for a short period of time.
The installation went well, but the vehicle began to have driving issues again after only two weeks. I took it back to the mechanic, who informed me that the solenoid was not working. The wiring was examined and found to be in good working order. He put it to the test and found that it didn't work. It's complete nonsense. I spent $70 on it. 00 only to be informed that a brand new part was defective. This brand should be avoided at all costs.
I would recommend quick shipping based on the description.
As a stand-in for the original part, it worked perfectly.
And it's half the cost of a car dealership.
I installed it myself because the part's quality is comparable to OEM and it's inexpensive.
