It is known that the rocker arm assembly on the Dodge 3 can cause issues. In both cases, we have a 5. Depending on the model year, replacers for 0 motors and complete rocker arms are difficult to find. Despite its part number listing all of the models it can fit, your review of the part number for this product may not indicate that. It is likely that if you email the company that sells them, they will only sell motors that are approved by Dodge. There is something wrong with that list. Despite the fact that this part number does not specifically indicate that it works for my SUV, when you compare the part numbers individually, they are exactly the same rockers, rods, bolts, etc. This was installed on a 2011 Dodge Nitro with a 4 cylinder engine. The previous owner used the same assembly for the 0L engine. I compared everything before installing and confirmed there are no updates needed to the part numbers. The only thing you need to do is research to verify that it will work with your engine, year, and model.
The quality of the unit is excellent. It is obvious improvements have been made to the casting, as rods seem to hold in place much better than they did before. My installation process was straightforward and I was able to find many online instructions with pictures. When your engine has more than 75K on it, it is highly recommended you replace the spark plugs, coils, and ignition coil at the same time. Let's just do it all For me, the install process took 8 hours, but I was taking my time and fixing other issues as I went. The rocker assembly probably took about an hour and a half per side.
It has been installed for about a thousand miles and it is idleing great. (Reminder, replace oil after 500 miles to clear out any break in material that may have come off. ).
There should be a firm lifter and not a spongy one. It comes from Chrysler. During the installation, make sure to line up the cam gears with the marks and torque the assembly to 31 nm when the new rocker arm assembly is installed.
An engine with a 5l displacement.
Chrysler 3 - dreaded car of the 1980's. I had a problem with 5 lifters/rocker arms ticking/tapping. These rockers solved my issue and the car is running better than it has in a long time.
It made the rod tick more often and became worse.
I had to send it There was a mistake in the part.
They work just as expected and are just what I need.
Exactly what you're looking for.
