So far, everything has gone well. There were no leaks or other issues to speak of. Some of these aftermarket slave cylinders appear to be causing problems for some people, especially with the plastic push rods becoming fatigued and bending. Under the dust boot on other aftermarket ones I've compared, there's a black plastic push rod. This one from Beck Arnley has a khaki colored one that looks identical to the OE part, so the ones with the black push rod may be made of a lower quality plastic. Also, learn how to bleed this cylinder on a Mini Cooper by doing your homework. It necessitates pressing the cylinder into the line (via some sort of clamping system) while bleeding the air out of the line; in other words, the bleed procedure is reversed from that of a standard slave cylinder.
My 2004 R53 was a perfect match. This could be the cause of your car's inability to shift into gear. This will most likely be the case if you locate the cylinder on your car and discover that it is leaking. The key to bleeding this is to compress the clutch cylinder before installing it in order to remove all of the air. I used a piece of wood with a hole drilled in it, as well as two long bolts that threaded through the wood and connected to the cylinder. br>br>ModMINI has an excellent video that walks you through the process. br>br>Level of difficulty: Tools Required: Beginner to Intermediatebr> The cylinder must be removed with a 10mm socket or wrench, and the bleed screw must be removed with an 11mm wrench. br>Supplies Required: ATE 200 brake fluid (my choice for minis)br>br>I discovered that my car needed a cylinder replacement during rush hour on my way home, when I couldn't get it into gear. I'd suggest checking it every time you change the oil to make sure it's not leaking. Check your brake fluid level on a regular basis as well, as this could be a warning sign.
OEM-like quality. Unfortunately, the design of this Mini Cooper BMW is severely flawed, resulting in the failure of the throwout bearing and the near-destruction of the bell housing. i've re- This slave cylinder was designed and modified by me to ensure that the clutch and bell housing were not damaged. If you're having clutch problems, I'd recommend replacing the throwout bearing rather than waiting for it to blow up and destroy everything else.
The guardapolvo has been damaged and is on the run. As a result of the lack of liquid, the clutch bomb is rendered ineffective. There are no pressure and flow calibrators available. I don't think this product is for me. I'm looking for a way out.
After removing and reusing the old internal ruber seal, bolts and connections were perfect. To remove the air from the system, I manually actuated the plunger.
My 2005 Cooper S is currently being worked on. If you're doing this job on your own, I'd recommend using a power bleeder.
Installing is a breeze.
