The dealer is the friend of the new owner and you are sure they will be honest about assessment and recommendations for your car. I've owned my 08 E350 for 14 years. Well, it took several years for me to understand that the dealer just looked at me as a cash cow when it comes to repair. If I had listened to the dealer about the cam housing cap and the 2 smaller cam caps, I would have needed a gasket change since oil soaked the back of the engine. Over the year I owned my car, I began to tinker with it and grow When I decided to explore the engine, it was evident that the major work suggested was unnecessary. I was able to fix the problem by simply replacing all three caps. It only took one screwdriver to do the job. Snap the new caps into the old ones and pop the old ones out!.

This is an authentic replacement part for a Mercedes. I recommend that you DO NOT just buy anything because you could end up with a Chinese plug cap that leaked and you would have to buy two! I BUYED THIS FROM A MERCEDES PARTS DEPARTMENT. IT IS AUTHENTIC AND HAS A MERCEDES CAM PLUG AS IF I PURCHASED IT FROM THEM. 2007.
