At first, I was skeptical of this product when I started my research. In the past few months, I purchased a 2020 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road The Toyota Tacoma TRD TX Baja I had in 2013 still has the Road Premium package. With a K&N system, my Baja is ready to hit the road A N CAI, Jet Performance MAF sensor, throttle body spacer, and Unichip ECM tuning computer are the components. An upgrade to the truck's catalytic converter was already in place. Due to the fact that I performed all those upgrades simultaneously, I was unable to define which upgrade was responsible for When I discovered that my 4Runner was equipped with the same engine as my Tacoma, I realized that I would be able to save a lot of money by taking a different approach. As soon as I installed it, I was amazed at what a difference it made. Based on other reviews, it was fully accurate to describe the car as feeling like a completely different vehicle. I find that this installation creates such prodigious results with such a simple setup. It is important to note that this unit has a variety of settings. Upon installation, start at the lowest setting to test it out, then raise it as you go until you find the appropriate setting to suit your needs. Start with a low setting and work your way up. This unit offers drastically different results and I am 100% serious when I state the noticeable differences are clearly definable. Sport - is where I am now I didn't exceed Sport 0 mode on my test drive due to the sensitivity used in the pedal. I would find it cumbersome to increase the sensitivity to the point above where I am currently at. The dramatic increase in engine response time will certainly give you the illusion that there is a horsepower increase with this product. But please realize there is no actual horsepower increase with it. In addition to the TRD CAI, throttle body spacer, and Jet Performance MAF sensor, I have completed my engine upgrade. In the end, though, the Pedal Commander has been far and away the most influential.
As for fuel efficiency, I did not add this product because it would yield an increase in fuel economy. I am certain that one could come up with quantifiable results in the Eco setting. Performing my first fuel economy measurement after installation, I found that my results were almost identical to those seen before installing, which were It has a combined fuel economy of 9 mpg. I might have been over exuberant due to the awesome results of the gadget that caused me to press the gas pedal too quickly. The bottom line is that if you have a Toyota 4Runner, this product is a necessity. is a mule that was used in this vehicle It's a compliment to be told that. There are few engines that perform as well off-road as this one. No matter how difficult the conditions are, it will prevail. You can haul your stuff with it. I find it to be extremely reliable. Time-tested and proven in the market, this product is always on the forefront when it comes to security. One of its biggest drawbacks is its sluggish road response and lackadaisical speed increase. A pure breed race horse cannot carry three times its own weight up a mountain, and mules will never win the sprint race. This product changes all that when you add it to your 4Runner. It's another 4Runner so you have to keep in mind you're purchasing a car that will never lead the pack of sports cars. You will be able to run at least with the pack if you purchase this Pedal Commander. This is the first time I have left such lengthy reviews, but I relied heavily on other people's opinions during my purchase decision, so I felt obligated to contribute. I have confirmed this product will work on a 2020 Toyota 4Runner TRD Offroad as well. A premium for using the road.
If you are considering buying it, click the headline. It is likely that you are considering buying this product if you have been considering it already. The reason for its use is clear to you. It's just a matter of buying In other words, it does just what it says it will do. Neither your 4runner nor your foot will be miraculously faster, but you will no longer have to mash the pedal all the way to the floor in order to move the car. I can't find any fault with it. There is only one downside to the system Toyota would have had to pay $300 for something that would have cost them $0 to implement. There was no pain involved in the installation. My driveway is frozen, so I had to do this outside in the freezing weather. The first time I took out the pedal, I went out with a 10mm socket and ratchet. Some sites said that using the socket and ratchet allowed easier access My understanding of why this is so is that the plug is fully accessible, and I cannot even see why removing the pedal would make a difference. You need to squeeze the clip to get it to release so that the plug can be removed. The clip faces away, toward the passenger's side. My only quibble is that it explicitly states it will not void the warranty, yet the included instructions recommend hiding it whenever bringing it into the dealer for routine maintenance or replacing it completely prior to major service. I totally get this, and didn't give them a negative review for it. The box was mounted at knee height, but I think it would have been better to have mounted it behind the dash, out of sight, so it would not need to be hidden. As the unit can easily be altered or disabled with the bluetooth app, it's not necessary to expose it to the outside world. While it was snowing, I turned it off a couple of times. Last but not least, it remains Over stock, that is significantly improved, enough to cause a bit of whiplash while I am still getting used to it. As for sport mode, I haven't given it a shot.
It is not a good investment. DO NOT After learning that there is a problem, they (Pedal Commander company) do not do anything, don't return calls after I quit after a week. During this time, my truck goes into limp mode and does not respond to the throttle. The box only needs to be unplugged to work, as it is only $400 in paper weight. Getting a lawyer is on my to-do list. Get yourself an actual programmer from a solid company and you will be glad you did.
It's very easy to install, you just plug it in and it's ready to go. Specifically, the product returns a more timely response to the throttle and boosts our 2014 4Runner Limited's throttle response to that of a vehicle fresh from the factory. The first time I tried it, it was in City mode and it felt fine in town, so I switched to Sport +2 and I have just left it there since I purchased it two Since then, I haven't bothered to mess with the settings anymore because Sport +2 feels just about perfect. Passing on the highway is much easier now because the throttle kicks in much sooner around town, the power is continuously available, and fuel consumption has not changed. However, it was not something I was expecting, since my wife has a heavy foot. This book is highly recommended for anyone with a 2010 or later computer A new 2020 4Runner is on its way!.
