Better than the better known brand for a much lower price. I was so glad I happened upon this deal. As I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 Z71 with 5 cylinders, I'm able to tow my trailer. The AFM disabler I created for my M3 engine has given it a new lease of life for more than a year now. In my opinion, the AFM function is pretty cool at first glance, like many others. The little bit of fuel you can save. Despite the fact that it is an important consideration, do we really buy V8 trucks to go into 4WD Can you please tell me what cylinder mode is? The manufacturer's instructions say you shouldn't plug it in until you've disconnected the negative terminal from the battery, which I did after I disconnected the negative terminal from the battery, as many others have suggested. Once this is done, one pushes the OBD port into the battery and then reconnects it. It took me the better part of a minute. If the packaging is simple and the product is only one-part, don't be put off by it The instruction sheet is a page long. You don't need to do anything else. As soon as it stopped flashing, I proceeded to drive it. In no case did the problem occur at highway speeds or under heavy acceleration. A complaint I have is that 4 was introduced without adequate notice It is a common occurrence that I press the cylinder after I have just hit a traffic light or when I am gently trying to accelerate through a 20mph zone. It was also during this period that the AFM made an annoying pop from the exhaust, custom duals were installed behind the passenger side rear wheel, and acceleration was delayed. There is no need to worry anymore! As soon as I started doing it again, I felt I drove up the same street, which went into the same half-morning shop every time It was kept in the V8 mode, but this time the display showed that it was always on. It produced a throaty sound and actually pushed well at slower speeds before I needed to increase the It immediately made a difference to me, as I mentioned previously. Let's now consider the skeptic's point of view. The Range AFM has been so close to being the perfect fit for me many times, but I've been unable to justify spending the $190 or so on what I thought was a "maybe it will work". Having read many of the reviews on it, after finding this one I decided to try it, knowing that if it did not work, I would return it and No matter what it's branded as, I'm buying it. Honestly, I don't care about the price or that it works properly my main concern is that it was approximately $60 cheaper than any other choice. I will update this review if it fails. At this point, though, I am happy and will tell everyone that it was the most immediately noticeable improvement for my performance that I have ever had other than a custom program and a new set of lifters, cam shaft, etc. The light that glows blue on my foot well is mine to keep or discard. It is neither my favorite nor my favorite so I'll probably tape it over.
This is the day one review since we just arrived this morning. Despite the fact that I know the device would go into V4 mode in multiple conditions when it is plugged in, I took the pickup out for a 30-minute cruise. I did not have any problems with the V8 mode and it remained on the entire time. When it arrived, it came with simple no frills instructions. The primary reason I purchased this particular part was to stop the irritating fluttering/stuttering I experience when switching back from V4 to V8 on my 2010 Silverado. It would be nice if oil consumption were reduced, as some have suggested. We aren't too worried if it has a minimal effect on fuel mileage. My old pickup had a Range brand in the diagnostics port that was working fine at the time, but I forgot to remove it before I sold the pickup. I thought I would save about $60 or so by buying this brand. LED lights on the Range were annoying to me (at night), as are the lights on this one, so I'll tape a piece of electrical tape over the lights for out of sight, out Those changes could change my experience with it, so I'll be back to find out This review needs to be updated. This is an update for Thursday, November 4th, 2020 My rating was reduced from 5 stars to 4 stars because of the assembly quality, and I've included a second image showing the unit in 2 pieces. When I moved it from the diagnostics port, it came apart on me. I pulled towards the device while it was plugged in. In order to remove the cover/front case, you must remove both the plug and the connecting cord Leaving the circuit board in the diagnostics port was a bad idea. If I hadn't been paying attention, the circuit board could have easily been damaged. You have to be careful when unplugging that you do not snap the two pieces together when you unplug them. In order to hold it together, they have cheap little plastic tabs that hold it together (poorly), and after I put them back together, I plugged it back in, and it worked again. Unplugging it should be done with care. Be sure where you grip.
I purchased this for my 2015 GMC SLT with five tires. The third level. The product arrived in a simple box with clear instructions and a simple installation process. I disconnected the battery and connected it again after following the directions. During the last few days, I have not seen V4 mode since I reconnected and turned the truck on. It was awful that the shifts were so constant. One week into the project and I still have not encountered any issues. When tested prior to the sale, it got 15 mpg in city driving rather than the promised 25. The average fuel economy is 1 mpg. I installed it, I have an average mileage of over 16mpg, driving the same way. The drop in mpg is probably just data spread, and not an indication that the car is losing fuel economy. I turn off the truck and the light goes out, so I don't expect any battery drain. I got what I wanted from it. There is less money to spend than with the.
I have the 2016 5 and everything works as expected. This Silverado is a 3l. It has been about three months since I started using it I will be away for four As long as the car is plugged in and I don't drive for more than three days, the battery is not draining. You can save a little money by getting this one instead of the "range" brand!.
Yes, this is a good idea. It is not possible to tell if your vehicle is getting better fuel economy. The common lifter issue now has more of an impact on my peace of mind.
This AFM disabler is the subject of my review. There is a difference of $40 between the name brand and this In the past 6 to 8 months, I have to replace the #1 spark plug about every 6 to 8 months, so this is the only reason why I got it. As a result of AFT, 1, 4, 6 and 7 have been disabled. In addition, I have heard that the #7 cylinder can stop functioning over time and the cost can be $3000. The estimated cost of repair is $4000. So far, the module is working. I figured if I could keep the truck in V8 mode, all cylinders would be working and hopefully no more fouled plugs would occur. The boat is cruising downhill, going downhill steadily. The car stays in V8 mode all the time. It's a good day for me.
When I was deploying this device I was skeptical, but it worked as advertised, there is no longer any sound like helicopters are following me in V4 mode. (difficult to stop when muffler and exhaust are chambered. Car remains.
This morning, I placed it into the system after receiving it. When I disconnected the battery as per the instructions, I installed it and reconnected it, then took it for a drive. It stated that it was in 8 cylinder mode on the dash instead of 4 cylinder mode since I was experiencing fluttering. In general, it rode well, and if the situation changes, I will come back and report.
