Selected User Reviews For PROFessional Powertrain DCT8 Chevrolet 5.3L V8 Engine, Remanufactured
For this motor, I built a custom street rod, installed everything, and it immediately knocked. I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how to return it. This is a complete farce.
I was blown away by the motor's condition. It looked great and was easy to install. I'd recommend these engines to anyone looking for a well-built engine. I first considered going down the traditional route of having an engine rebuilding facility rebuild my original motor, but discovered that it would be more expensive and that the risk of human error was higher. Take a look at the video on their website, which dispels any doubts about the assembly's quality.
Would recommend looking elsewhere first day fine second day lifter went down pulling heads and replacing lifters also valve wouldn't close all the way on one cylinder so had to take heads to machine shop update valves were so bad had to have valve job roller on lifter was loose and back lifter trays on both sides were wore out they wouldn't hold lifters in them mind you I just put this motor in my truck with less than 100 miles on it you have been warned.
Very nice, looks new, starts right up, and runs strong, just like my truck did when it was new. I got 370000 miles out of it. br>I would recommend this product, and the prices appear to be reasonable.
I went out and bought a 5. 7 engine for my 1999 Yukon, after a few days to a week of driving, the motor started knocking, so we pulled it and sent it back to LKQ, well they determined it was something in the motor that caused it to knock, they claim it was the Mobile 1 fully synthetic oil smh they tested who came out saying there was no bad compression in 4 of the cylinders but they would not refund me money or exchange motor, so I took a 1700 loss.
For the year 2007, the wrong one was used.
