ACDelco GM Original Equipment 20776808 Engine Ground Strap

In comparison to the original ground cable in my engine (see photo), this one is quite substantial. This is most definitely an upgrade rather than a replacement. Because the 15mm bolt at the back of the engine block is difficult to reach, I was unable to remove the original ground cable from my 2008 Yukon XL Denali. I left that cable connected and replaced it with this one. Near the original installation point, there was a threaded hole. I flattened the end of the new ground cable with a hammer, and it fit perfectly next to the old one. I used a 3/8-inch bolt to secure the cable to the engine block. 16 x 1/2" grade 8 hex bolt (O'Reilly P/N 003800BP). br>br>I installed this cable because my Yukon had two electrical issues: it had trouble starting (it would crank but not start) and the turn signal noise was sometimes silent. I haven't had any problems in a few months, and in addition to this ground, I've replaced all of the battery's cables (negative, positive, starter, and alternator). Although the cables are inexpensive, installing them will take an entire weekend. After installing these cables, you'll almost certainly need to re-set your HVAC actuator.

This Ground is even bigger and appears to be a better product in many ways than the OEM original!.
