Questions & Answers

Is this a transmission for an automatic or a manual?

I installed this item in an automatic 2008 Pontiac Vibe when I purchased it, but I don't recall seeing any distinction between automatic and manual parts.

Does it have the same feel as a 2006 Pontiac?

I installed it in an 05 Vibe and it works flawlessly. I can't say for sure if it's a 06 or not.

Is the fan included with the radiator, or do I need to purchase one separately?

The cooling fan is all that is required. Separated radiators

Is there a set of retainers and clips included with this item to keep it in place?

My car's fan motor bearing failed, and replacing the entire unit was less expensive than replacing the motor alone. The wiring and hose were disconnected, the bolts were removed, and the units were swapped out. Everything I required had been prepared in advance. It took less than 10 minutes to install on the unit.

Excellent value for money

(This is a follow-up to the initial assessment. ) I haven't had it long enough to be able to comment on its durability. )br>br>Even with Prime shipping, this product arrived quickly. The replacement plastic appears to be similar to the original. br>br>Installation is simple, but that's due to the car's design rather than the product: there are only two bolts (the bottom is secured by brackets slipping over metal poles on the radiator), and you'll need to disconnect the radiator overflow hose (easy) and the power cable (easy). br>br>Amazon's "Check Fit" tool for my 2007 Pontiac Vibe did not provide accurate information; there was a similar fan assembly that Amazon said *fit*, but the picture was not the same as my fan. The picture was identical for this item, but Amazon claimed it *did not fit* my Vibe; however, rest assured, it will fit a 2007 Pontiac Vibe perfectly.

Replacement fan for the Toyota Matrix and Pontiac Vibe
5/5

This was purchased to replace the cooling fan on a 2006 Pontiac Vibe, which is essentially a Toyota Matrix with a Pontiac body. In fact, the radio is the only thing on the Pontiac car. Under load, the old fan had developed an unusual wobble that made it appear as if it was attempting to dislodge itself from the vehicle. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the motor assembly anywhere, but I was pleased when I found this on Amazon for 33% of the original cost of the original cost of the original cost of the original cost of the original cost It was being sold for $212 in local brick and mortar stores. It was an exact match, and it fits and functions flawlessly. The entire process of replacing and closing the hood took only 15 minutes. The car is now quiet and comfortable, and the owner claims that the air conditioning is now cooler than before. It's most likely because the old unit didn't do a good job of cooling the condenser, but it's still a nice bonus. Even if you don't do mechanical work on a regular basis, there are only two bolts, one electrical plug, and two hoses to remove and reinstall for the $70 price tag. attach. Just make sure the radiator fluid in the attached reservoir is cool, and that the bottom of the unit is seated on the two bottom guides on either side of the condenser. To be extra safe, make sure the keys are not in the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable. Even though the blades are made of plastic composite, I'm sure they would hurt if the fan was turned on while your fingers were in the way.

It lasted about 2 hours
4/5

This fan fit perfectly in my 2005 Pontiac Vibe and kept the car cool the entire time it was working; it lasted 5 years and worked well during that time. The fan lasted about two and a half years before it died. It didn't have the longest shelf life, but I paid about $60 for it instead of $250, so I guess I can't complain too much that it lasted more than two years. To replace it, I'm going to buy a new one today; I'll be satisfied with the price if it lasts at least two more years.

UPDATE: UPDATE: UPDATE: UPDATE: UPDATE: UPDATE: UPDATE Around 8 months after purchase, the expansion tank began to leak
4/5

It's unclear how this item's warranty will be handled. TYC claims that Amazon, as the original wholesale distributor, is responsible for replacing the item, despite Amazon's initial claim that TYC was responsible. After some back and forth, I was transferred to an Amazon call center representative, who handled the return with ease. While I appreciate the customer service, it should be noted in this listing that if Amazon refuses to honor the warranty, there is no warranty. br>br>This was a direct fit replacement for a 2007 Pontiac Vibe, as the original fan/shroud/coolant reservoir is a Denso product that I couldn't find anywhere else except through Toyota at a high price. br>br>This fit well and is nearly identical. The plastic appeared to be thinner, and the opaqueness wasn't consistent across the board. Apart from that, the only significant difference between this and the original is that the original has a built-in clip for the overflow cap hose, whereas this one has the hose dangling on its own. But it's a short hose, and you can tuck it in next to the radiator feeder hose and it'll be fine, so it's not a major issue. It was simple to install and the fit was almost perfect; It took a little adjusting to get the bolt holes to line up, but it wasn't too difficult. The wire harness fit like a glove. br>br>Product appears to be of good quality, but I'm not sure if it will outlast the original. The fan motor's quality is unknown, but the fan spins quietly and without vibration, at least for the time being. This was a great fit for aftermarket options, a good price, and it appears to be well-built. The only way to know is to wait. I'm satisfied for the price.

Perfect fit for the 2006 Toyota Corolla/Matrix
5/5

This was purchased to go with a 2006 Toyota Corolla (which has the same engine as the Toyota Matrix). I prefer this unit to the OEM because the coolant reservoir is more translucent, allowing for easier reading of coolant levels. Because this unit's overflow hose is shorter than the OEM, I swapped them out. Aside from that, it's a perfect match for our Toyota Corolla from 2006. The setup is straightforward and should take no more than 20 minutes. Before installing and zip-tying the new fan, remove the old fan's two wire holders and attach them to the new fan. The fan wire should be tied.

It's a perfect match and it's simple to put together
5/5

It took less than 10 minutes to install, including transferring the coolant from the old unit, with only two bolts, a hose, and an electrical connector. This part is an exact match for the fan unit that came out of my 2005 Pontiac Vibe, despite the fact that the fan motor alone was three times the price of the entire assembly. On my 2005 Vibe, the OEM fan motor lasted 360,000 miles, while on my 2006 Vibe, it lasted 140,000 miles. Note that the newer version is black plastic, but it installs just as easily.

For a 2006 Pontiac Vibe, this is a perfect drop-in replacement that takes less than 10 minutes to install
5/5

br>br>Make sure the engine is cool, and if in doubt, disconnect the negative battery terminalbr>unclip the electrical connection to the fan and clip the two wire retainers (new fan assembly can use zip ties for wires)br>Remove two 10mm bolts, one on each sidebr>Remove the hose from the overflow tank to the radiatorbr>Pull assembly out and replace br>br>That's right, it's that simple. The fan has a good air velocity and works well. Significant cost savings when compared to options available locally. It was well packaged.

It's very simple to set up! I disconnected the wire harness from the fan shroud, removed the two bolts holding the shroud in place with a 10mm socket on my ratchet, and popped loose the two plastic retainer clips in my 2007 Pontiac Vibe in 5 minutes
5/5

I installed the new one by reversing the procedure for the old one to come up. br>After a month, it is extremely quiet and functions flawlessly!.
