I think you could probably do it if you reversed the wires, but because of the way the fins are designed, it wouldn't be as effective

Due to the lack of fan from factory, it works well with a few modifications

There has been a dramatic change in oil temps around town, while the highway was always cool. I measured oil temperature with a 180 degrees tstat, which I think will give you the most accurate results.

I love my 2016 KTM 390 Duke now that it has this upgrade

I am using it in my 2016 KTM 390 Duke and it is working very well. The only thing I needed to do was dremel one of the mounting screw holes and to replace the stock plug housing with the one from the oem fan, so I didn't need to solder anything. There is no sound to disturb and it keeps the temperature under control far better than any other type.
