It's my fault. The only time I used it was on my AC fan blade, so I'm not much help. As far as I can tell, this puller can also be used on a squirrel cage, but I imagine you would have to modify it slightly based on where the hub needs to be located if there is
It will work the same as an allen key if you use an adjustable wrench. There is never a need for an allen key in my life. In my case, I used adjustable wrenches and they did fine.

liked the tool when I first saw it, but now, having pulled the squirrel cage, it seems to be a lot of money for what you don't get. A tool like this works only when it is centered and prepared. You will damage the squirrel cage or fan attached to the shaft if you don't center it. There are relatively small holes available to look through, so after a couple failed attempts I was forced to resort to using a flashlight to make sure I was on target. There would have been a simple solution if they had provided one or more different-sized spacers that you could slide on the shaft to apply the tool to. It would have self-centered for the most part if this had been done. For a few more dollars, I would have been eager to have this done, even if it wasn't an absolutely Also, I think they should have put rounded screws in the set that really help you get a better grip on the shaft when you are trying to remove the sleeve. The fact that it took the punishment of my Milwaukee impact gun at times when I was frustrated with my hand tools was something that I liked. There was a rusted squirrel cage on the wall that was 17 years old. It was removed using the gun and a 19mm socket, but the tool was unharmed because of the quality of the Though I do recommend it, I was a bit annoyed with the centering and the fact that a cheap accessory could have made it so much easier for a rather expensive tool.
Years ago, one of the air handlers in a rental property that my family owns had a blower motor go out. To separate the motor from the squirrel cage with a drift pin and a hammer without this tool, it would have literally taken me hours. After experiencing a previous failure with this same scenario, I decided to purchase this tool to prevent a repeat of this event. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR INFORMING ME! So, I'm just wondering why I didn't purchase this tool when I first heard about it? As much as possible, I centered the tool while sanding down the exposed, surface rusted shaft with plumber's sandpaper. I then spray the shaft with lubricant and oiled the shaft. The motor drops from the other end of the bolt when turned in a clockwise direction. I love how easy it is! Don't go about removal of the motor the way I did years ago by doing it in a caveman's fashion. Despite what I paid for this tool, it was worth every penny! Nothing to sweat about, nothing to hammer about- You won't waste time and you won't hit fingers The results are just perfect!.
A day earlier than promised, I received the item. As if it were a tank, this thing is built like it. An enclosure had been rubbing against a squirrel cage that had slipped down on the motor shaft. In the beginning, I used a hammer and some jury rigged stuff to move the disks a bit so they wouldn't Then it began to rub again several days later. Because I did not want to have to put pressure on the motor bearings by hammering, I came across this item. Despite its high price, I figured I could try it out. I found out later that the motor is less than 2 years old, but the cage is really snug. We oiled the puller bolts before installing them, as well as the main bolt, so that it would turn more easily. It was very fast and easy to mount and pull the cage to where I needed it in a matter of minutes. A deal of this magnitude was worth it's I now have the tool at my disposal, so I wouldn't have had to pay for a service call. Other people should definitely check this out.
In my case, a squirrel cage had been attached for *30 years and, with typical hand tools, simply would not come off a malfunctioning PSC motor. In about 10 minutes, I was able to remove it with the sturdy tool. Notes
Always abide by the following A sight hole on the side is essential to ensure that it is aligned correctly. As a result, I discovered that the resistance in the wheel extended the length of the axle - this was important for my job. It was necessary to remove it all the way from this wheel using the screw on the tool, not just break it free. At first, the screw jammed up on the edge of the axle hole since it wasn't well aligned. I backed off and aligned it properly, and it worked just fine.
I had 13 years left on the condenser fan motor bearings and they were failing. When the air conditioner was turned on, the motor shrieked loudly and looked rusted. As soon as I found an identical motor replacement, I ordered this device so that it would be available for me in the event that I couldn't pull the fan blade from the motor shaft otherwise. It was just what I needed. Also, I needed to have it ready within a couple days as the heat was rising and I wasn't going to be able to stay on top of things without air conditioning. The value for the money portion of the review receives one star less as other units are more affordable. It is necessary to use a special tool when you need it. Having the right tools made the job possible.
The cost of this item is higher than hiring a company to come out to perform the work. However, it is still much cheaper than hiring a "HVAC" company! The problem with me is that I have had a history of "HVAC" repair and other construction matters, but I have also become totally disabled now. In truth, this was just about too much to manage This fan blade puller is quite different from the others I have used in earlier years andI have never seen any of the others make any more sense than this one. Even with the best blade pullers, some blades simply will not fall off, even with the best pullers, which I stated earlier is what I believe to be the best style for this type of work! Although it is possible that you will need to use this along with heat and an acid to dissolve the rust*, without this tool you would have a much harder time as you need a device you can use to keep a constant pulling force on the blade as you work to remove it. I am very satisfied with this product, since it is made of very strong metal and is the best quality which you can get at a reasonable price! The company shipped it to me very quickly, and I am quite pleased! While I borrowed pullers of this type from other people back then, I needed one of these of my own when I used to fix them! You need as much assistance as you can get with fan blades so make sure to give it a spin! The doctor has ordered just what you need! There is no question about it-these guys and their puller are the best!.
