An intermittent problem with the wiring that controls the TMAP sensor caused the engine to run rough without any apparent cause. Fortunately, I was able to fix this problem by cleaning out the wiring that connects to the sensor, but it only lasted for a few It started to run rough again, wiggled the plug, and it was smooth once more. I tried cleaning and fixing the connector once again, but the connector would not work. The connector repair kit is spliced in and the butt-end has been shrunk when heated with a heat gun As a result, I replaced the connectors and the TMAP sensor since the connector blades on it were unlikely to be in pristine condition. After repair, the engine started and ran perfectly. I would suggest you do that because the colors of the wires are different. As I photographed and wrote down the wire colors ordered on the stock connector, I kept track of the color order. When you pull the rubber boot off of this repair connector, you can examine the colors of the wires, making sure they are matched correctly. down the color of the wires that connect to this repair connector so you know where to connect them. I was very pleased with the results. My estimate is that the total cost was about $42 because the Tmap sensor was about $26 in the Amazon store. The same Bosch TMAP sensor # 0 261 230 217 was quoted by Polaris at over $70.
You will definitely notice that the colors of the wires are not the same when you replace your OEM connector with this new one. There could be a problem with the harness, but I don't know if Polaris or the harness manufacturer is responsible. While it's easy to check in the manual exactly which wire colors go to which pins on this particular connector and sensor, Polaris is notorious for using different wire colors for each year of vehicle, despite the fact that the sensor was identical. You'll either have to keep a little log of which wire color must go to which OEM wire, or you'll have to make a chart. Nonetheless, if you have broken wires in your OEM harness, then you may need this guide.
The product was excellent, no issues whatsoever, and solved my idle issue on my Polaris razor xp 1000 for 2014. I promise that it's the pigtailed that needs to be replaced, not your tmap sensor. I found it easy to figure out the colors of the wires even though they are different.
It is a good product, but pay attention to your wiring when installing it.
