Is this compatible with a 2001 Impala LS v6 3.0?

Probably. It fits a GM V6 3.0L engine. Non-turbo 8 liter engine a boost I installed it on my 1999 Grand Prix and it performed admirably. Check online to see if your vehicle is compatible, but I'm guessing it is.

the . My car is a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP from 2001. The ac compressor had become extremely noisy, so I ordered this and installed it. To get to the top two bolts for the compressor removal, a friend suggested I remove the ICM mount. It would have been much easier for me if I had done it that way. I removed the bottom body piece for access to the bottom bolt, which made it much easier. A hardware kit, six spacers, a washer, and three bolts were included in the bypass kit. If the kit included a hardware kit, the directions stated that it must be used. I didn't use it because the ac compressor was mounted on studs and the spacers wouldn't fit over the studs; I still have the hardware kit in case something goes wrong, but the pulley and bracket feel solid after a week of driving, even with some heavy acceleration.

It appears to work as expected, but it's a pain in the neck to replace in a 3800 Series II, especially if the guard underneath has never been removed, which is the only way to access one of the bolts unless you're made of rubber or have some tiny tools and arms. I'm holding off on making a final judgment because I've had problems with Dorman products in the past.

The cost of repairing the air conditioning system is prohibitively expensive. To keep the same belt, use this instead of the compressor.

I put it in place. What can I say, I did the tric. This is what I put on my 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix. It was more difficult to remove the compressor than it was to install this.
