Questions & Answers
A good reason why there are five ports is because they are strategically located. Inputs are taken from the Master Cylinder on two of them. For the front brakes there is one, and for the rear brakes there is one. Three of these lines are outputs from the brakes. One pair is for the rears and two are for the fronts. To connect the vehicle's rear brakes, one big brake line runs through the engine compartment. There is a fitting on the rear axle where it is split off to each rear brake. At that fitting is also the flexible hose. two remaining ports are for the brake lines at the front of the vehicle. The front brakes are separated by one port, because that is where they are located. There is no other way to plug the extra port at a combination valve other than to use a flared brake fitting plug if, for some reason, you do not wish to use two front brake lines. Don't try to use a thread plug in an NPT hole- Water will leak out of it.
