Questions & Answers

Are the new covers made of any special material?

The part I installed, which is a rubber and plastic composite, worked perfectly and was very cheap and easy. It is definitely time to replace the screwdriver tool.

Is this part compatible with a 2010 Toyota Sequoia?

My knowledge of the topic is limited. My 2007 4Runner was missing this part, so I attempted to replace it. I took my Toyota 4Runner to a local Toyota Certified Service Center to get it done since it required disassembling most of the lift gate interior. In addition to washing my car, they also offered other services. It is possible that you will experience the same problem I did with the melting of the original rubber cover. The rubber will get You don't need to waste time on The one I had was thrown

Can you tell me where the screwdriver is?

The screwdriver was accidentally left out of some of our kits. Currently, we are working on fixing this issue. Let us know directly if you want the tool, and we will send it to you.

The item I need is the same, but it must be for Toyota Avensis station wagons. Could you please let me know if this is The dims of this plug are 100mm x 25mm and the holes are 90mm between centers. ?

Toyota Avensis should be able to use this part. The Avensis owners who bought it and used it told us how much they liked it with their cars.

The method works quite well with a few small You are much more likely to save money by buying a used switch as opposed to buying a new one
5/5

There are a few things I recommend, however. This is *br1. If you don't have a trash can to put under you while you work, get a razor blade to scrape off old material and bring a trash can to clean off the debris. For all the old stuff to come off, I had to scrape across the surfaces for 10 minutes. I did not damage the switch plastic in any obvious way since it is hard and slick. If you want to keep the old unit's washers, you don't have to recover the plastic ones the new screws in the kit have wider heads (I wonder how they thought of it). Observation 2. An inexpensive low profile ratcheting tool is much easier and faster than using the supplied My experience with the Anex 425 was great). 1. 2. 3. You need to keep an eye on its orientation once you pop out the switch. Both sides of the switch can be pushed in, but there is a plastic ridge on one end that helps you snag the button and the switch While that same ridge makes it harder to stretch the new part on, everything seems to have stayed sealed off, despite it being a little more difficult. In addition, the wiring comes from one side, so stressing it is not a good idea. The fourth paragraph. As long as you work with the liftgate closed, it won't cause any issues. Leaving the lid open is too high, and lowering it part way activates the electric drive, which is typically It may be necessary for you to bring a chair for this meeting. It's not safe to kneel on the old rubber goo (bring I assume it was more work than it needed to be due to the nasty rubber, but it was still less work than taking apart a gate to replace a I wish you the best of luck in.

This is the exact fit for the Toyota Prius 2008, plus tips on cleaning it! Ensure the safety of your Toyota Liftgate with this Liftgate Switch Cover
5/5

pleased to have found such an inexpensive replacement switch cover that is great if your rear hatch switch cover has melted or is starting to melt. Each time you press the key to open the rear trunk of your Toyota, you receive the gift of sticky black fingers. It would have been nice to have looked for a replacement a few years ago when I saw the first signs and before the sole Here are not tips on how to clean OEM rubber covers, but on how to clean clean an OEM rubber cover. It's time to get rid of that goopy black goo that kept building up on the rubber cover on your Toyota liftgate / trunk switch. Before installing the new rubber cover, here is what you need to prepare. I think this sticky material is the worst I have ever dealt with in any of the jobs I have done so far The things I've done myself over the years concerning car maintenance. Even so, it took about 30 minutes to finish You have 45 minutes left. e used a cleaner called "Goo Gone" as a household cleaner. Grass, oil, label glue, and Goo Gone can all be removed with it. Rubber is the substance targeted in this instance, and it has degraded. Goo Gone is safe to use all over the melted rubber area of the Put Goo Gone on the affected area and drench it thoroughly. Your car may look a bit messy as it runs down the back of your vehicle, but you will be able to clean it We want to get rid of the melted rubber. Allow Goo Gone to sit on the affected area for a few minutes (maybe 3-4 The wait is five minutes long). After that, you’re going to need at least a dozen paper towels to wipe most of the melted rubber off the surface. Despite the fact that paper towels cannot remove all of the rubber residue, there will still be some. After wiping the remaining rubber off with a cloth rag and Goo Gone spray, I applied the adhesive again.

The last stage of cleaning You can clean up anything left behind by Goo Gone using a household cleaner. As a result, I used Windex glass cleaner and more paper towels (because Windex removes grease and oil, which are the basis for Goo Gone). I was not able to completely clean the area around the hatch switch, but it was clean enough to replace the On the back of the rubber cover is an inner lip intended to wrap around the switch cover. The exact wrap-up, however, can only be obtained by. . . There may be a need to remove the switch from the hatch cover to make the switch fit. This was not something I chose to do and so I simply screwed it up You cannot wrap the little lip on the back around the switch area if the rubber cover is attached to the back. As a matter of fact, this is what most people do

I noticed a comment that said this product wasn't an exact match. Upon further review, I believe that reviewer may not have realized that most people will need to remove the switch in order to get an exact fit. The edge of the sheet might be able to be pushed into the hole with a small screwdriver if you're patient. The perfect wrap doesn't matter as long as you're in the mood In the event that your rubber does not fit around the switch area, you can utilize screws to hold the rubber flat against it. Taking what I have gathered from other reviews, it seems some people install this way, just using the screws and skipping the extra step of wrapping the rubber lip around.

I got this part as a replacement for my Prius in 2006
5/5

However, I am completely out of my depth when it comes to getting It is impossible for you to exert any leverage. There might be a way out if there was someone to hold the hatch down while you extended upwards. As you can see from my picture, my screws are angled IN toward the car, making it even more difficult to get the screwdriver in. I don't know if that's the case in all Prius models, but mine are. In the unlikely event that I managed to put it in the screw head, the screw would only move in the RIGHT direction. It is not left to Furthermore, I needed to remove my license plate due to the plate cover being too thick and I wasn't able to angle the screwdriver properly. This led to a new nightmare, of course. That screw ended up breaking due to it being frozen. I had to drill out that screw and hope for something to replace it with, so I had to try to find It was a minor issue but I ended up sticking (literally) the old latch cover back on and covering it with Duct tape to keep the outside from getting dirty. As far as I can tell, my There is just one thing left to do, and that is It was recommended by the first reviewer (thank you very much) that I buy the Anex low profile ratcheting set. This is something I'd like to try. It is possible that the screws are now stripped. The screw head cannot be seen at all, so it is hard to tell. My question is, why isn't the license plate included in the IE Works tutorial video? I watched it on YouTube yesterday. This is what I've been searching for. Also be aware that you may need to do that. As far as I'm concerned, IE Works is out of my control. Is Toyota right? It is true. The process couldn't have been harder. Kind of strange to have to do it this way
. . . but it looks like it will fit nicely. It would be nice to have a better screwdriver, as the one that is included is pretty worthless.
