Questions & Answers

What is the fitment of this item for my 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually?

The one I bought fits my 2010 Ford For your truck, I'm sure they make one. If I were you, I would buy a product that is tailored to fit The instructions on your computer are not always the best. You Tube may have some better ideas.

How many of these do you need to mount on ?

Only one was installed on my 2014 Ford F150, on the drivers side. Installation was not difficult, but the shock in a 7 month mode of use had broken. The tailgate on my car is heavy, so I originally envisaged having one on each side, and I intend to do just that. Even though I like the idea of lowering the heavy tailgate with the assist, my doubt is that it can be done by just one side.

How do I know if this will fit my 2010 Ford F-150 Does the 150 platinum crew cab come with a 7.5 foot bed?

You will be able to fit it. I use it on the heavy tailgate of my 2011 F150 crew cab and find it to be a very good addition. It took about 15 minutes to install. You can find a video of the installation on YouTube. You're the best!

As far as the tailgate assist is concerned, it works great for about a year
3/5

As far as the tailgate assist is concerned, it works great for about a year. In the past, I have purchased 2 of these for my Ford F-150 and they both broke on the first use. will not purchase this item from this manufacturer again, but try another manufacturer instead. It seems to be the lower attachment to the tailgate that is causing the issue. The problem is illustrated in the attached picture. Approximately 20 times, the tailgate was lowered before each of the items broke at the bottom.

The installation is quick and easy! My order nearly got cancelled when I read the low rated reviews, which talked about how difficult the installation was of this product
5/5

As soon as I sorted reviews by most recent, I almost ditched my order. Installation has been described as being super easy by all of the newer reviews. It turned out to be right! In addition to updating their installation instructions, DeeZee probably provided new tools to process the installation. I installed this in about 15 minutes because the instructions were clear. So far it seems to be working great! As the weather gets colder, I expect it to move a bit slower, but I don't mind. In the event that it becomes a major issue this winter, I will update that As such, we will not be making any more "Oops". I've got you! As it comes down, I have to get used to not being able to hold the tailgate. The vehicle of which I speak is a 2013 Ford F-150 The kit seamlessly fit into my 2015 Ford 150 XLT, and the instructions were specifically tailored for This is the September 2020 update I am now into winter number three, and the product is still functioning the same way it did when first installed. Thanks for purchasing! I am very satisfied with it!.

This program works nicely and accomplishes what it is supposed to
3/5

As soon as the item is installed, it is 5/5. This program works nicely and accomplishes what it is supposed to. A note about my 2013 Ford F150 FX4 I have it. Now let's talk about the installation process. I would give it a 1/5 (hence the generous rating of 3/5 overall). We were unable to install the ball mount on the tailgate with the hardware we were given. There was no way for me to make it I was unable to install a screw into the base because the base kept spinning. My case was not one of them! I would not have been able to get the ball mount installed if I hadn't been savvy and lucky. My experience was that the ball mounting "nutsert" (the ring-like portion that acts as the female portion that installs into the hole in the tailgate) is completely ineffective and I cannot insert it into the tailgate. In essence, it is an awful design, and Dee Zee should take note of these reviews and improve it. There's no fairness in the end - When it comes to tools and projects such as this, I consider myself pretty good. As a result, I can't imagine what someone without as much experience is going through during their install. Getting back to the fix, I just happened to have a nut with an integral spinning washer (also known as a serrated flange nut). It fitted the threading of the ball mount perfectly (sorry, I can't tell you what size it was). A really long needle nosed pliers allowed me to wriggle into place inside the tailgate by pushing against the metal. In order to accomplish this, I removed the factory black plastic tailgate liner and used a flashlight and patience to guide the nut into place. My ball mount threads started into the nut, and I was able to finish the job. In order to tighten the ball mount and get it started, I gripped the nut firmly while tightening the ball mount by hand until the serrated portion making contact with the tailgate "bited. " Once the nut was tightened down with a deep socket wrench (and I was able to release the pliers), the pressure on it held it in place. the ball mount had been successfully installed, the rest was a piece of cake. In terms of concerns over the life of the hydraulic assembly itself, I can't speak to that since I've only had mine on for Yet, it is a component that WILL fail over time (everything does, recall those old hatchback cars from the 1980s? Should the shock fail, I would not hesitate to purchase another one of these kits, as long as I never have to acquire another set of bolts or deal with ball-mount installation again! As a result, I will not change the lug nuts (which I won't change because I used flanged nuts, which should last a long time). At the end of the day, this product is fantastic if installed properly. There is no better way to describe its performance than that. In any case, the installation process (as designed right now) is bad. From start to finish, I spent about three hours on it. Almost all of that time was spent on installing that stupid ball mount You will love the product if you take the time to get it on correctly after you decide to buy and go through the painstaking process. On this one, patience is a must. I have a PS As you can see in the photo, a serrated flange nut looks exactly like a nut with a serrated edge. Since I don't know the size, I would take the ball mount to HD or Lowe's and match one to I wish you the best of luck!.

The auto-rising works great, and I like not having It slam down when it comes Easy to install and took only a few I cannot seem to figure out how you insert the gold piece and keep screwing until you can no longer do so
5/5

After installation, remove the screw and washer and then install the ball point. When it is locked into place, you remove the screw and washer. Honestly, that was the only challenge I faced, but hey I was into cold smoothies at least. Even though it was installed upside down, it still worked fine, but unfortunately it got stuck after I turned it over, so take your time and give it a try. It takes only five minutes to complete the task. I would definitely recommend using a 10mm star bit socket rather than the tool the kit came with because it won't be able to handle the torque to remove the bolt where the tailgate strap clips and that is necessary to remove to remove the plate. A great product, which will last for quite some time, thanks to its strong rubber,.

It works well, but the instructions for placing the blind nuts need to be adjusted
4/5

My first act was to install it as soon as it was delivered. As long as the instructions are clear, I should be able to do it. In my installation experience, the only issue I encountered was when I installed the blind nut first. * * *
I proceeded with the installation after following the directions and measuring the 3/4", marking a point on the nut to count the 9 revolutions and installing In spite of nine revolutions, the blind nut has not yet been While it had spread slightly, it was still free to escape from the tailgate hole. It worked like a charm once I fed the screw back into the blind nut and reinstalled it into the tailgate all the way. After turning the tightening nut a second time, I started tightening it. Although I do not remember how many times I turned it, I did so until it felt It was easy and quick to complete the installation after installing the blind nut, and it worked great after that. Twenty minutes were required to complete the installation with gathering tools.
