That is not the case. It's just the latch that's causing the problem.
My car was a 2011 and I know it was listed as fitting that year. Sorry!

I assumed I'd have to live with the original when it broke because it didn't appear to be easy to replace. Thanks to some YouTube videos, I saw how simple it was (2 screws) and ordered this part, and I'm happy to report that the armrest is no longer popping up and banging down! Take a look at the videos after you've ordered it.
Those who gave it one star because it didn't fit are not properly installing it. At first, I did the same thing: I watched a YouTube installation video. It's simply a piece of plastic that has been molded. It must be installed with the spring in the proper orientation; otherwise, it will barely grab onto the clip and open easily without spring pressure holding it in place.
This latch proved to be a wise investment. It has an oem vibe to it. It was a perfect fit for my 2008 Honda Civic Si console. It has a solid appearance and a solid feel to it. It was a breeze to set up. It took me less than 5 minutes to complete. It is something I would strongly suggest.
Removing, disassembling, installing the latch, reassembling, and reinstalling the cover takes a lot of time and effort. It's a lot more difficult than it needs to be. You might want to try glue first, but if you do, make sure you watch a good video first. I replaced the cover at the same time because I had it completely apart, but everything else works as it should.
You can repair your broken Honda Civic console latch by watching YouTube videos and carefully following the instructions. If you take good care of the car, it should last you 15 to 20 years, but that latch appears to be only good for 10 years. Life expectancy is one year. Thankfully, the YouTube video makes it simple to swap out the part. It took about 5 minutes for me to make the change. You'll need the following screwdriver: T153a T15 Professional Torx Screwdriverbr>I also bought it on Amazon. The Honda dealership demanded $150 for a diagnostic fee, as well as an additional fee to repair the broken latch. I'm not sure why they needed to diagnose it when I already informed them that the latch was broken. I saved myself a lot of time and $137 in the process.
The console handles on the 2006-2007 models are After so many years of use, the 2011 Honda Civic cracks, which I believe to be an engineering flaw for longevity. This item is a great replacement for the original. Easy to install (just make sure you know what you're doing because some of the console components are hard to come by these days), fits perfectly, and functions perfectly. Thanks for making a quality product! They're hard to come by these days.
This is what I had in my 2010 Honda. It fit perfectly and, after a few days, is still working fine. It appears to be more durable than the original part: the plastic flanges are thicker, and one of the original part's plastic flanges broke. So far, everything has gone well!.
It was given in an extremely professional manner. shipping envelope with security features Following the removal of the old piece, the new one fit perfectly. My center console is 100% working again at the moment.
