The cargo light in the truck's bed is illuminated by a white light. It doesn't appear to be related to the dome light, in my opinion. Check to see if the white light is the only one on your cargo light switch.
No, only Silverados 95-percent will be affected. The third brake light is on in 98 Silverados. The 3rd break light in Tahoe is skinnier and lasts a little longer.
1 X Gasket is included in the package, but there are no screws.
Hello, Debra. It's plug-and-play. Functions of the brake light and the cargo light

That is something I strive to avoid. I read some reviews after I placed my order. They claimed it didn't seal properly, would leak, and was otherwise useless. I admit that I would not have ordered it if I had first read the reviews. BUT, AND THIS IS AN IMPORTANT BUT. This is a fantastic product. It's well-made and appears to be properly sealed. A new gasket and screws were included with it. It was a perfect fit and went together without a hitch. It looks fantastic and is extremely well-fitting; I would highly recommend it. I'm not sure what the negative reviewers were referring to.
This purchase did not impress me in the least! The light itself is of poor quality; the lens is clear plastic with a red tint that, in my opinion, will fade and crack after a few good days; there is no real red plastic; it's all one piece with a red dye tinting the clear plastic; no one but myself is to blame. It's cheap, with no backing plate to secure it to your vehicle, just the plastic casing and a strip of double-sided tape to keep it in place.
This is money well spent as long as it lasts. It's been about a month since I got it, and I'm really happy with it. The lighting is extremely bright and visible. It came with a nice seal that adheres to the light's back. The backing or seal have no strange gaps or wrinkles. Only two of the four original screw holes are used, so new ones are included.
I was ideal for my 1997 Chevrolet Silverado extra cab. The only issue I had was that there is a seal that goes around the light, and the seal and the adhesive didn't seem to stay together. We'll see if it absorbs any moisture. Hopefully, my product was defective. br>br>***Update 12/25/2019**
Moisture got into the housing, as predicted.
Rubber gasket doesn't seal well, so I had to use silicon to keep water out of the cab.
Great upgade with a lot of light. So far, I haven't had any regrets about my purchase. br>The truck appears to be in good condition.
The electrical connector is the same as the one used by the original equipment manufacturer. Screws for installation were included.
