The package includes the gasket, the new bulbs, and the new The wires are located behind the headliner inside the cab of the truck, though you will have to pull it down to get them. Once you have taken down the headliner, the wires are already attached to the new light, making it a simple matter to remove a quick connect switch.
As it happens, I ran into the same problem with my unit and, unfortunately, the replacement screws were not included. Having contacted OEM Ford Parts, they suggested I use m4 screws of 55 mm. Then divide the two by one.
A thicker gasket is needed. There is no thick one with it. The insulation gasket I used came in a round roll from Lowe's.

To give you a better idea, I have a 2007 F-TYPE It has a length of 150. A perfect fit was achieved with this product. I will give you a list of what is great about the product below 1. As a third brake light, it looks like a factory stock item. I was pleased with the quality of mine.
3 As well as the foam seal on the base, as well as the epoxy glued to the seal, it includes a flexible plastic cover. The fourth point. It comes with three bulbs and a wiring harness. Here are the steps to install this software
Hopefully this will save you some time. I. A.
. The following items are required There is no need for much more than a Phillips screwdriver, several paper towels, some water, and some rubbing alcohol (Isopropyl). Take your screwdriver and tighten the screws on your old light before you start replacing it. This will give you an idea on how much torque you'll need. This will be a difficult experience for you to forget. If your current brake light is relatively easy to remove, it should come off without too much trouble. Please hold on to the two screws after removing them since you will need them in the future. When you remove the screws, give the old light a good tug and wiggle to break it loose. 1. 2. 3. Around the seal area, I found a large quantity of crud when I removed my light. To ensure that the new seal does not leak, make sure this area is thoroughly cleaned before replacing the old one. the washer leaks, you'll have water inside your truck, which could ruin the headliner, seats, carpet, or other items.
4. Rub some rubbing alcohol onto the metal seal area and wipe it off with Once it is really clean, wipe it off with a towel and water. I had to put in a lot of elbow grease to get the spot completely clean in 5 minutes. Five point five. You could reassemble the light housing if you simply wish to replace the plastic one Wiring harnesses can be reused after several years. By doing this you save a lot of time. Simply change the 3 lights from the old housing with the new one, so you will have the new wiring harness left over when you're finished. When you are in the process of changing the bulbs, you might want to replace the old ones with the new ones. 6 *. I had been hit by hail and water had gotten into my house, shorting out the middle red light, causing the bulb socket to burn to a crisp. I had to replace the wiring harness because of that. Thank you so much for including one. I. 7. It is important that you have long fingers and slim hands if you are going to replace the harness. It's not that hard, and if you take your time, it'll be fine. I was worried that I would have to remove the headliner inside to access the plug, but thankfully it wasn't necessary. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about There are two larger holes in the back wall of the cavity if you look inside. There is a plug behind the right hole in the panel, right past the hole. By looking at the plastic fasteners poking through, you can locate its location. With your left pointer finger, stick it in that right hole. When you wrap your finger to the right, you'll feel the connector of your old steering You only need to apply moderate pressure towards you and to the left so that the connector comes You must carefully remove the connector and make sure that the connector passes through the proper hole in the connector as it is removed. It happened to have the flat side facing me, as it probably is with yours as well. Take the old harness out of the box. You should remove the bulbs from the new harness to protect them, then feed it through the middle hole, and then feed it over past the right hole, then feed it Make sure that the connector is the correct orientation again by using your left pointer finger and move it up and toward you against the wall until you are able to connect to As soon as I did that, my entry went in easily, although I didn't believe it happened in that short of time. I gave it a little tap to be sure it was secure, and I heard a little click. This is 8. You can now reinstall your three bulbs with the harness connected. You should now check to make sure the 3 lights on your truck are working properly before applying Check the white light on the side of the remote by clicking the unlock button on the key. It was okay if I had something heavy on the brake pedal to check the middle red light if you are a one-man show. Then, 9. Finally, it is time to install the light sockets in their new homes. Once the housing is mounted, the next step is to install the nozzle. As you put the new housing in and screw in the screws, be sure not to over tighten them. A failure to do so will result in breaking It's important that they are I wish you all the best! For all of this, and considering that I am decent at this kind of work, it took me approximately 45 minutes to an hour. My goal was to avoid breaking anything, so I took my time and went slowly.
I really wanted to give this a 5 star rating, but the mold quality left so much room for improvement. The benefits are The case seems to be built well, and the molding quality is identical to the original case (except for a slight variance). It works perfectly well, both in terms of assembly and lighting. Here is a picture with the OEM layer on top and the Dorman layer below On the bottom, there is an installation of 237. The cons are It is somewhat disappointing from a company that prides itself on quality to have mold defects along with light assembly. In the event that it doesn't leak, I will disregard the aesthetic flaws. A few notes Using a light and forceps, I was able to connect the harness. It can be difficult to line up the plug precisely, but if you're patient, you can accomplish it. You can unplug the harness plug by reaching to the left of the far right hole in the roof opening with your left hand palm up. You will find the clip that should be facing the front of the truck if you press in. There would be a lot easier wiring if the plug end of the wiring harness had a bit more stiffness (maybe two inches), so the plug could be more easily fit I wish you a blessing from the Provider!.
As I read the description of this item (displayed as an OEM direct replacement), I was a little concerned since LED bulbs were used instead of the standard auto bulbs in my original. Then I flipped through buyer reviews and instead of panicking, I began to ponder Here are the Q&A's There are four sections. Many people have spent significant time and effort to replace the original assembly with this one, and others have had success. I had no issues with the part after it arrived. After removing the box, it was installed, & there were no other issues Under 30 minutes and it works like a charm! A single mini-flashlight was all that was available to my husband after dark, under the dark conditions. The fight took place in the snow, in the face of a grizzly. (ok I completely joking about the snowy showdown but I am happy with the fit and finish, as well as the quality of the product. The system is effective. Wiring harnesses with pin plugs are included in the assembly - no cutting, no splicing and Light bulbs made from LEDs The kit also includes a gasket. The item was of exceptional quality.
In an early 2000s Ford F150, I bought this assembly to replace the third brake light assembly that was cracked and leaking. Imagination is the only limitation as it can be adjusted to fit just about any shape. I have not noticed a leak since I installed the cover. As it was difficult to swap out electrical harnesses from outside of the cab, I chose to use the existing one. This cover did not come with any screws so be sure to keep your old ones or try to find some at a wrecking yard so that you can secure it properly. If you tighten these screws with a screwdriver, you're less likely to crack the plastic as you're not tamping them down.
My rear facing bed/backup lights on this unit will not turn off unless I set my interior light switch dimmer to the off position when the truck is running. I used the supplied wiring harness and connector for this unit. As a result, I cannot drive without the dash and radio lights being turned off, etc. and this will really cause some problems at night. Whenever my truck is off, the lights are still on for about a minute before shutting off automatically. In order to restore the original wiring harness, I will use the old Ford connector I saved last year. Those who are I used clear caulk to seal the seams on the top and side of the light, and touched up a spot on the gasket as others did. This third brake light assembly fits well, includes a new gasket, and seems to be good quality construction for the price. After that, the screw heads were caulked with clear caulk. After I removed the headlining on the passenger side in order to get to the connector, the installation took me about 15 minutes from start to finish. The key to reinstalling the coat hook is to be careful not to damage the plastic ridges that allow it to lock into place in its metal bracket when removing it. Watch a video on removing the coat hook. Is it informative? The wiring issue needs to be looked at by Dorman In my 2007 XLT I have a base model cab with a dimmer switch that should enable the light to operate properly. I was unable to use the light because of water penetration on the wiring from the factory. There is a possibility that I received a defective.
