No, I don't think so.
I recommend that you watch Lippert's videos and e-mail him. They will show different ways to insert the grease depending on your axle in the trailer on how to replace those parts. Install assemblies and torque correctly.
I put 1 on. They were 980" in length, but they were very close together. The Bearing Buddy 1980 is far superior to the Red Line Brand, which I had previously purchased.
That's what I believe: Pattern of Bolts 5 on 4. 1/2" stud size on a 5" stud

I bought two of these, and one of them has the hub bore slightly off center, causing a lot of vibration at 45 mph empty (55 mph when loaded). When comparing the stationary backing plate to the spinning drum, you can see it is nearly 1/4 inch out of round. br>br>Both of the drums I bought had tight spots when they rotated with the brakes adjusted. All of the backing plates and brake hardware were brand new at the time. br>br>I drove it with these for a 2000-mile trip and it performed admirably at highway speeds of 70-80 miles per hour. 75 mph, but the vibration was unbearable on the back roads. I was past the return window by the time I figured out the problem, so I wasted money on these and ended up buying Dexter replacements made in the United States, which fixed the problem.
We ordered one of these drums to replace a broken one on our trailer about eight months ago. br>br>The first drum had a glossy coating, a Lippert logo cast on the drum, and a specific casting design where the wheel bolts to the drum itself—small circles where the V's meet. br>br>The second drum had a glossy coating, a Lippert logo cast on the drum, and a specific casting design where the wheel bolts to the drum itself—small circles where the V's meet. When it comes to drums, I think it's pretty cool. br>br>However, none of the three additional drums ordered are identical to the first: two of them lack Lippert information on the casting, one of them appears to have been painted with flat black spray paint, and three of the four are cast with a different design where the wheel bolts to the drum itself— one of them has no circles, one of them has what appears to be the start of circles, and one of them has what appears to be the start of circles. (If it weren't for the lack of Lippert information. ) That drum would have been identical to the first one we received if it had been cast into it. )br>br>We hope that these design and finish flaws aren't indicative of the product's overall quality. Having said that, all of the drums arrived on time and in good condition, and according to my husband, they are correctly mounted to the spindle. However, he strongly advises that additional wheel bearing grease be applied to the bearings as well as inside the hub. (Lucas Red "N" Tacky)br>br>We have not yet put these drums to the test, but we are optimistic that they will perform well. We're hoping they'll last as long as the Dexter drums that came with the trailer. which will be 26 years old in a few months. Not sure if we will be alive to see that, but…
Hope springs eternal, or as my husband puts it, "I hope these things% " OMG! It's like having a relationship with Eeyore. . . br>br>Update: My husband made the decision to contact Lippert about the drum mix-and-match problem. After receiving the order, Mel in the Lippert Customer Service department kindly expedited two new "matching" drums to us at no cost. We're raising Lippert's overall rating from three to four stars as a result of this. br>br>In our opinion, the fourth and fifth stars can only be earned by demonstrating product quality, durability, and the company's willingness to stand behind their product in the event of a quality or durability issue. It is hoped that the product received is the same as that which was expected. However, as time passes and product use increases, there is no longer a need to contact the organization to request warranty coverage for their product. br>br>Only time will tell how well these drums hold up. . . but what the hell, I'm giving Lippert five stars. After all, we did get five-star service, and my Eeyoreish husband says, "Great, just great. . . as if I don't have enough superfluous crap laying around here. . . !" "Thank you, Lippert! "br>br>.
It would have been great if they had put 2 cents worth of tape over the ends to constrain the bearing in the drum, or if they hadn't installed them at all. Instead, bearings fall out and are hammered by the drum, contaminating the grease with box crud and other debris. If you buy these drums, plan to replace the outer bearing at the very least.
Bearings were greased and the inner grease seal was already installed when the hub arrived. My only concern was that it should have been wrapped in plastic before being shipped to prevent dirt from getting into the bearings. They appear to be in good condition when packed in wrapped foam, but I'll inspect them thoroughly before installing them! br>br>Apart from that, I'm completely happy.
Having the drums turned and having an RV shop do it for you is much more expensive than doing a complete drum and brake plate replacement. If you're even remotely mechanical, this came off and went on with relative ease. There was a minor mess due to the grease, and you should definitely repack the bearings before putting it in.
I wish I'd known I could get this so quickly and for such a low price when I needed it. I had never attempted to reassemble my original hub before. Oh well. It's all about living and learning. Never again will I have to replace bearings and seals. This is something I'm going to order. For only about 20 people, it's a lot less work. 00 in addition to bearings and seals.
The unit is fully assembled and greased. There are no complaints because it fits perfectly on the spindle. Purchasing OEM from the axle manufacturer is most likely a good investment. It was well worth the time and effort it would have taken to find a different brand that would fit.
This is a good policy! It's grease-packed and ready to go if you need it.
