The first one only lasted a single start before the lower lobe slid down the camshaft and the decompression release snapped. It was no problem getting it replaced; I haven't yet installed the second one, but I'm hoping for a better result. BEFORE INSTALLING, CHECK BOTH CAM LOBES! SO YOU DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, MAKE SURE THEY ARE SECURE TO THE SHAFT.
I replaced my old broken camshaft with this one, which lasted two months before falling apart in the engine, necessitating another replacement.
Position at the start-up. Camshaft broke on startupbr>It still ran, but the intake valve was stuck open, shooting fuel back through the carburetorbr>Cam appears to be inferior in construction to the tombriggs cambr>But Briggs was back ordered, so I gambled and lost this onebr> br>Recommend passing on this unitbr>Update. . . the gear side spring release cam has broken. This cam manufacturer should be avoided at all costs. br>.
And the engine is in good working order. The gasket in the engine case had been ripped in half.
The only issue I discovered was a broken gasket, but everything else appears to be in good working order.
