Yes, this is required to complete the CAM's on a Harley Twin cam. The job was made so much easier with the help of this tool. We removed the CAMs from the plate bearing and replaced them with new bearings and CAMs. That would have been a nightmare if not for this tool.

Works. You could improvise, but you'll end up spending a lot more money and causing damage to parts if you do so. I'm pleased with my purchase, and none of my components have been damaged.
