The boot I needed is for a 12 VDC application with medium amperage. A 3/16" stud terminal cover) for the wire was far too small, but that issue I like the way that the cap tightly covers the lug substantial and pliable enough, yet substantial and pliable at the same time. In the end, they were just what I needed.
I cannot even imagine how big these are This is what I was hoping for. Rockwell 1/0 cable can be easily mounted over the cable thanks to crimped copper lugs and adhesion shrink tubes. We had to lubricate the cable so the boot would fit on it, but the lug is easily covered now and looks really good! My circuit breakers and alternator were both treated with this solution.
Item #10 It was a perfect fit on my ATV winch posts at 3/16. Because I didn't want to cut the wire for this, I wish I had found these before I installed it. I ran out of terminal connectors so I I have no problem with that. Using my knife and saw, I cut a slice across the back of the cap and was able to slide the connector and wire through.
The plastic piece is great for the most part, but it doesn't fit over the red lead pads underneath the stud, which conduct electricity as well. You can get some relief from it, but if you want all your skin care requirements met, look for another product. These are just cosmetic products.
The perfect solution for covering exposed cable I should have gotten down to the next size for battery cables since it was a little big.
The silicone style covers are more flexible and soft, but they are very durable and very rigid. The Silicone style is the best option if you need a flexible and pliable product.
An ideal fit over the 2/0 wire (1/2" OD) was hard to achieve. Once the dielectric grease has been applied, slide the copper lug over how it was crimped on the wire. Just a little joint compound goes a long way in helping this slide into place.
