ACCEL 2020 Points Eliminator Kit for Ford Motorcraft Points Distributors

I'm disappointed that this package of three items, which is usually purchased together, does not arrive in the manner depicted. I was thinking that this was a better buy than the other Access 2010 (points eliminator kit) that I believe is for sale. I wouldn't have paid this much if it didn't include the long distributor part, which is basically the yellow part in the photo. None of the previous reviewers mentioned that the points eliminator pieces were the cause.

It's not a good idea to go through with it. On my 1966 T-bird, I had the first set installed. After about two months, the bird died. The replacement set lasted a few years before acting erratically. Worst of all, it fails in the same way that sudden death does. I was either at or close to home in each of my cases. I lost faith in the system and kept a stock set of points on me at all times. I went back to the beginning of the set-up- On the side of the highway, to be precise.

This isn't the first time I've faced a challenge like this. For the past 15 years or so, I've been working on classic Fords as a hobby. This was purchased to replace the points that were constantly messed up on my 1965 Mustang due to a bad distributor cam. br>I dislike wasting money, so instead of buying a new distributor, I bought this. Sooo, br>br>Sooo, br>br>Sooo, br>br> In the end, it works fine; however, I don't believe it provided me with anything; I don't feel or notice any difference in power, torque, or anything else. When compared to the points, it appears to start a little faster with this. Finally, why three instead of five stars? The instructions were extremely "drama queen. " "These are simple to install, but the instructions make it sound like if you don't hold your tongue while doing so, you'll blow a hole in the center of the earth. The directions are unclear, and the "BE SURE TO" section goes way overboard. ", as well as the capitalization of WARNINGS!
ALSO: The rotor is strange, and I'm pretty sure it's a dud. I nearly stripped the key out because it was so tight that I had to hammer it in. You'd think that with all the warnings on the directions, they'd mention something about how tight the freaking rotor fits and that you'll probably never get it off again. br>I usually like ACCEL products, but if you look hard enough, you might be able to find something a little better. br>However, if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, consider the following It's still working great and hasn't given me any issues, so it's clearly doing its job.

This was purchased because I required an electronic ignition signal for the fuel injection system that I installed on my Ford 390. This does not send a consistent RPM signal and was ineffective in my application. Carburated vehicles would most likely benefit from this. A photo eye sensor was built into it.

THERE ARE NO CHANGES TO BE MADE AND NO ADDITIONAL ITEMS TO BE PURCHASED. In contrast to the Petronius brand, which messed up the ignition system, this kit fit like a glove and made the engine run silky smooth.

Their coil became faulty as a result of melted wires. This kit, on the other hand, was a complete waste of time. When the car was hot and in gear, it would stall. That's a total of three products that have gone bad. Sticked to the points and improved my performance. Accel has a poor quality control record.
