I have six pentastar version 6. The new Ram 1500 that I drive has a 3. 0L V-6 engine. I am a pentastar six. All Terrain tire in 34 inch size, made by BFGoodrich. Spring and shocks have been beefed up, so it rides like a 2-door The standard height is 3 inches higher than the custom height. The intake was bought as a replacement for the stock unit that I accidentally broke. Not for anything to do with performance or sound, I chose it primarily for its cost. I removed the MAF sensor as it was not necessary for installing. The grommet with the sensor had to be inserted quite a bit by hand, that took the most time. The situation was tricky. I hope it was just the result of my stupidity. With respect to the sound, the mid to high rpm range is noticeably louder. A particular focus should be placed on the items When the throttle is opened up more, the speed rises to around 5k. you want to make it louder or more throbbing, then this will be the perfect solution. However, keep in mind this is still a v6, so it won't seem like a v8, but it In addition to the lack of a whistle, it does not sound like a race car, but rather like an old V8 (in an encouraging As far as performance is concerned, I've noticed no difference. Could it be marginally better? There won't be anything crazy here, so don't expect that. On the other hand, if tow/haul mode is on, it makes a bigger impact on performance. I do feel as though air is more easily accessible now. Pushing on the throttle does cause the torque to be felt sooner or later. However, it is not by a As far as MPG goes, the difference doesn't make a difference to me. After a few weeks with the device installed and using it for a few weeks I am still getting around 16mpg. I usually drive with a lot of weight in the bed, so I usually get 16mpg. In summary, I would tell you to buy the book. You may find it worthwhile to buy it for the price of the throttle response improvement, or if you broke your stock intake or just do not like it. In truth, the install was almost perfect, and if you were looking for a sound improvement then it would probably work for you. Nevertheless, if you only drive around town, you will probably not notice any difference in the sound if you don't open the throttle very often.
The V6 Ram is 6 rams. In a nutshell, Here are some good things I noticed You did a great job. I like it much better than that chunk of black plastic that comes in the box. In addition, the extension of the factory air box looks really nice and went together without problems.
The sound is awesome as well! V8 nearly as loud as an 8-cylinder. Here is a video that will give you an idea of what we do. All the way through 6th, there was a throaty growl. I'm cruising at 65/70 with only a slight drone. While price is half of the next competitor, I believe you are paying for the engineering difference since it was a bit frustrating to get it right. This is a bad thing It is a pretty good kit, except for the directions which leave a few steps open to interpretation, so you need to know basic mechanics. I was really surprised at how difficult it was to apply the rubber grommet to the sensor. Just be really patient. In the end, I first put the sensor in the grommet, then used a small screwdriver to push the grommet into the intake. The person who designed the collar that fits inside the air filter to transmit the signal through the heat shield must be a complete After an hour of trying, I was unable to properly attach it. It would pop the filter right off every time I tried to tighten down the hose clamp. It is too far away from the Last but not least, I screwed in five self tapping screws and then put a hose clamp over them. ****I gave it 4 stars for being difficult to install, but overall, it is a good product and I would recommend it.
Even without the work of this CAI, the Pentastar in my Ram 1500 sounds incredible. A few weeks ago, I installed 34" tires and noticed that the vehicle seemed rather sluggish due to the larger size. After installing this, I noticed some improvement in performance and mileage.
This is what I installed on my 2013 Ram 1500 4x4 3 years ago. The Pentastar 6 is a star. It was a very fast process that took around 35 minutes with only a few tools required. Instructions were As a result of the install, my highway MPG went from 21 mpg to 24 mpg. As a result, the acceleration from a stop was enhanced. The installation did not cause the check engine light to illuminate. This is a highly recommended product.
There was either a faulty quality control process or improper packaging that caused the warping of the product. For straightening the heat shield, I had to use Chanel locks. To get the bolts through, I also had to drill bigger holes because the holes weren't lining up in the first place. Also, there were calls falling through the grommet for the IAT Sensor. When driving longer distances, the cone filter kept falling off. I had to double clamp it to keep it in place. The rest of it looks great and sounds awesome as well. You can tell it's much more responsive now when it's revving and when you drive. This is a really impressive product.
Fits well and is easy to install. A few parts of the unit did not do so well. The clamp that holds the filter in place isn't the best to hold it in place, it gives up before it gets tight enough to hold. I only spent two dollars at the hardware store to have the filter fixed and I no longer had any concerns. I would have given it five stars, if the minor issue had not been present. It was important to properly clean all surfaces to ensure that no oil would cause the filter to slip off before I opted for a This is a great sound and the box sits well against the heat shield on the hood, making it less likely that it will be sucking in large amounts of hot air. Also, the rest of the hardware fits nicely.
It was super easy to install (2 beers), it sounds like I did an exhaust. I used spectre products before on all of my trucks excellent product.
Ram 1500 3 works well.
