Questions & Answers

The type you want is vertical ( not horizontal Hpiroidal (sag ) or sag ) surfaces?

The author has written this on his own Clean horizontal surfaces can be sealed with a leveling sealant. In my opinion, it wouldn't be suitable for vertical seams. ProFlex RV sealant is the product I use for this purpose. It is true that both sealants have their uses, but both are excellent.

In order to reuse the tip of a tube of Dicor, how can I keep it from hardening since it will not be reused if I use part of the tube?

There has to be a seal on the Dicor tip. If you want to keep the air out, you can stitch the hole close with a screw, then wrap aluminum foil around it. Make sure that the screw sits snugly in the hole. This wooden dowel fits into the hole at the tip of the hat. Keep the air out by any means necessary

What does it mean for the Amazon photo to say "self-taken" The "Leveling" is selected, but under "Usage" it says its not applicable Do you level? labels sent the same way for all products?

It may be that the image on Amazon contains an error. It is worth noting that Dicor produces TWO different A mark is printed on each tube that indicates whether it is self-labeling or non-leveling. The use of self leveling in lateral sealing can be seen in the following example. Your roof is on top of you. The non-profit sector The term verticle sealing refers to the process of leveling. RVs have end caps at both ends of the sides. Over the years, I have steadily used it and I am pleased with its performance.

I am reviewing the Dicor 501LSW-T for the following reason it works great but knows what to expect
5/5

You will need 1 piece of lap sealant. Applied horizontally, this sealant can be used to prevent water infiltration. You shouldn't use it on vertical surfaces or it will drip down. A negative review of this product claims it is not self leveling. That review is based on a false premise. Taking the lead. There is no need to level this product. believe all the person who ordered and was disappointed was expecting it to be a molasses-like consistency that would run thinly and spread There is no such thing as that in this product. When things like roof vents or ceiling fans protrude from the roof, this can come in really handy. The way it works is like this let's say you want to cover a screw head, place a 1/2" high glob of 501LSW on that screw head and it will completely cover it. As soon as the glob reaches 1/4" in height, it spreads out into a larger circle. In our experience, you can't apply it in the same way that you would traditional caulk by simply running a bead over the surface. To make it level out, caulk needs to be applied with a tall bead. With regards to the screw head example above, if you place caulk on the head that is 1/8" high it won't spread very much and probably won't level too much as well. As a rule, this stuff should be applied generously, not in an attractive manner. It will fill in cracks and nooks and prevent the possibility of leaks. Be careful if you're near the edge of your roof because this can drip down the sides if you're near the edge. The process is somewhat similar to baking cookies, you put a ball of cookie dough on a baking sheet and then as it bakes the dough spreads out and forms Consider this product as if it was a cookie. Doing so will probably bring it more in line with your

This is NOT an item that you need to use for a vertical surface.

The self-leveling sealant is easy to apply, durable, and lasts for years
5/5

Campers can be sealed better with DICOR sealant than anything else on the market. The best way to apply the primer is with a small, flat paintbrush. is self-leveling so when you are done with it, the surface flattens out, which is really beautiful, and allows water to flow across easily. Dichor's properties are superior to those of silicone, which can crack, leak, peel, and does not In my 1984 pop-up camper, I put a new vent in it and used this to seal it. So I sealed all of the seams and cracks on the roof with the rest. It would have been enough, but I also bought a gallon of UV roof sealer and applied three coats to seal the roof and protect the dicor. I had my old camper for three days during torrential downpours and it didn't leak once. The wind blew as well, which is saying It is certain that it will last a long time, which means I will not have to reapply silicone indefinitely. Keeping an extra tube handy in case you need it in the middle of nowhere is a great idea.

A perfect flow of air from the While there were reviews stating that the product failed to flow or the tube exploded, this product worked flawlessly
5/5

After 30 minutes, I let the tube sit in the sun Before using the sealant, allow it to sit for 60 minutes. It is a product that I would recommend and would use in the future.

It is not an adhesive, and I did not like the The reason I don't understand how to use this stuff may be my fault
3/5

I used it to seal a plastic housing that covers holes on the roof of my RV that is used for cable entry It may or may not keep out moisture for years (we don't know yet), but it will NEVER adhere the plastic housing to the roof, as it says it will. The goop can be mushed around with your finger even when dry, and you can easily pull it apart. I have much better results using the basic silicone sealant from Ace Hardware- it seems to work better than this one. Silicone sealants, however, deteriorate in the sun, according to Dicor. It's so sweet! There is no self-interest in it at all According to the description, there is a 'leveling' process. There is no flow in the seam. When I put a bead of it along the separating seam, it didn't run into it. I have no idea what I'm going to do with that. As it stands, it looks like a bead line. It is goopy, sticky, and flowy not enough to meet my needs. It cannot be that I am not a professional and do not know how to properly use a "lap sealant" (even though I watched the Dicor video on how to apply it), but I just don't trust it. He seems to be a total failure at everything he does. A matt finish and a matte feel are present on the dried surface- I don't know why, but it seemed to collect dirt. I may be wrong, but it just did not work like I thought it would.

The self-leveling tape is sticky and self-leveling! If you have never used this type of sealant or sealant before, you may find the application process a bit challenging
5/5

Do not try to make a great There is a purpose to this stuff. The flow is gradual but it does occur, or self-leveling, as the term goes. Max air roof fans go on the top of it. I use it for my Travel trailer roof. The pipes are not leaking. You should apply this stuff to your roof on a yearly basis.

This product solves the problem of leaking roofs on enclosed trailers
5/5

If you like I like it a lot. This roof looks like one from a factory. This is a very thin film. The cargo trailer roof is made from two tubes extending 14 feet long. Cleaning up is kind of difficult. I used my hand to spread the sealant instead of a paint brush because I think it worked better.
