Questions & Answers

Does one bottle of fluid have to be put in for each fluid change?

The manufacturer's technical service bulletins for Subaru line mechanics state only one bottle to be used, but in my practical experience, if the heads have begun to seep, resulting in the coolant level dropping quite frequently, you can prevent further service by adding one or two additional The coolant level in my 2003 Subaru Forester needed to be topped off A replacement is indicated every week, indicating the need for a new head gasket. To serve as a last ditch effort - (a very pitiful job and an unnecessary expense in part only) To try a "quick fix," I stocked up on not one, but three bottles of The next time I topped up the coolant, I used the Subaru solution and sure enough, I have hardly needed to do so for over 30,000 It actually isn't necessary for you to pre-order It doesn't matter how you mix it. It only takes a few minutes to remove the foil seal, put the cap back on, shake it up well, and then pour it into the radiator immediately (DO NOT use the reservoir). After that, you need to add distilled water to the empty bottle and pour it into the radiator in order to ensure that every bit of the product has been distributed. As a previous respondent pointed out, distilled water should always be used. Corrosion may occur on cooling system components when you use tap water. Please note that Subaru does NOT recommend this action, so please be aware of that, but also know what IS recommended is a replacement of the cylinder head gaskets at a cost of about two thousand dollars. Do you think I would be able to use two containers instead of one? A small leak has been discovered in my 04 forester. Have I not sealed the one I've used so far?

Using 2, however, is not intended to stop leaks and is meant to stop seawater

For the same purpose, can I use this on my 2000 GMC Jimmy radiator? Apparently it works for Subarus, so I think it will work for other vehicles as well. ?

We just put holt's Radweld on Subaru labels and sold them at holtsauto for more money. You can find more information on their website at www.com. It appears Subaru specify it for the 2. According to my research, it's a quality specification. The 5-liter engine developed a leak due to a common gasket failure. This may have been one of the motives behind the engine failure. There are borax and linseed meal in this product, made in England. It has a larger coolant capacity, so it has two bottles instead of one. I used it in my 1992 Firebird. According to Holt's, the sealant is designed to resist rust, and the particles are not likely to clog your radiator or heater core, so it can be used as a preventative to seal minor leaks, in the unlikely event This product is superior to others on the market in my opinion. It would be better for you to try to find an equivalent product at your local auto parts store, based on the high price here.

Would this fit in a 2013 Wrx 2 If you have 5 turbo or only non-turbo, Do turbos exist?

Having just purchased this along with my Subaru coolant for my 2006 WRX 2, I was going to buy this as well. It was not compatible with my 5l Turbo, and so the parts counter guy checked with the mechanic in the back who said that he stopped using this type of fuel for turbo cars. My apartment also doesn't leak or suffer from any other issues related to these things. When the Turbo models first came out, they used to do this every time the coolant changed, but now it's not a part of it.

Although we may not know for certain why this stuff has to be in our Subarus, we do tend to put it in them anyway! Subaru, however, says that it needs to be added. As a result of my research, it is to My experience with the stuff has always been positive. Stir well. *br
Make sure the shake is thorough. The only time to use this product is when you are performing a full coolant change or flush. This should be poured first, and not into the Once the coolant is removed from the can, pour in 125ml of our coolant of choice. All you need to do is run normal coolant tests. Even if the contents of your bottle is brown with white debris, the bottle is still fine, just make sure you shake very well before you consume it. This indicates that it is an old or bad batch by the appearance of it being sludge.

This fixes the leak of cooling system into the I find it strange that Subaru recommends sticking metal flakes into a cooling system, but it works to repair a cooling system that is losing coolant They must have identified this head gasket problem and thus came up with this solution, which seems to be working
5/5

My personal preference is to NEVER put any solid material in my engine, but I consider this one to be a decent fix compared to. Replacement of the head gasket on a 230k-mile 25EJ engine is difficult to justify.

Keeps small leaks from occurring externally
5/5

On my 2002 Forester, I had a very slight leak of external coolant coming from the head gasket. After seeing the service bulletin that recommended this additive, I decided to buy it. In the two years that followed, neither I nor the car had any further leaks, which led me to sell the vehicle. There is a label on the bottle that reads "Holts. ". Most likely, an old message has been re-posted Holes Stop Leak products are labeled as such. As far as it's appearance, it looks like ground up safflower seed husks that used to be used as an old-fashioned fiber A time fix has been provided. There was no effect on my leaky external head gasket, but I'm sure it won't work on a leaky internal head gasket.

Neither damaged my engine nor was there any information about how it works actually
4/5

My suspicion is that I do. A linseed-based mixture has been added to it that migrates to fill up leaks, especially important in a Subaru head gasket and other small leaks that can form in the system. This should be added every time the coolant is changed In addition to linseed meal and a proprietary resin solution, the product label mentions borax decahydrate. Manufacturers recommend it as the only additive that can be used to improve coolant performance. The 2000-2001 period is a case in point Although it seems to be unnecessary for the other Subaru engines, it could be beneficial in the 2002 series. A change in coolant was made by Subaru in 2008 Coolant was changed in 2009 to a blue liquid that has a longer change interval. Furthermore, the head gaskets were improved to the point that Subarus with 450HP are also going around with the standard headgaskets, so this step may not be necessary anymore. When the green PEG Ethylene is used When using a glycol coolant Subaru states you should only use GENUINE Subaru coolant because it prevents galvanic corrosion between different metals inside the engine cooling components and the aluminum block of the engine.

There is nothing special about it other than it stops leaks
5/5

I had a Subaru that blew a head gasket around 100,000 miles ago. It was just beyond the notice of an engine head gasket recall. I got this information from reading other reviews that the solution was to seal the micro leaks in the cooling system before they became major leaks. I have not had any issues since the 100,000 mile mark and I want to have no issues when it comes to the cooling system. There have been no leaks or problems with the engine performance so far.

It is used to repair an internal leak in 2001 Camry LE
5/5

I urge you to read this Three months ago, I discovered that my 2001 Camry LE was leaking coolant, and a code P0300 had been displayed on the dashboard. The spark plugs and ignition wires have been changed, the coolant has been flushed, the engine oil and temperature sensor have been changed. A bubble is present in the coolant reservoir, a cold start appears rough with coolant in the chamber and white smoke is coming from the exhaust. I found plenty of references and now I am ready to use head gasket sealer, which probably will destroy my engine and heater element. Finally, there is an old thread on Toyota forum that recommends this product because it is a The problem of an internal leak in a head gasket can be very hard to fix because the combustion pressure is not going to allow the sealer to get through. As a result, I removed #1 fuel injector wire and the spark plug, allowing the engine to idle quietly for half an After cooling it overnight, remove the foil and let it sit. As soon as you drive a few times, the code is gone and the coolant leak Keeping an eye on the coolant level will be my daily task.

I love this product
5/5

It works perfectly! A 2004 Forester with a mileage of 250,000 was purchased. There is no coolant in the reservoir and the radiator is Have you figured out why your head gasket failed? I didn't think we could pass up the price. I put in this product right away. I've driven 5,000 miles so far and the coolant hasn't dropped a penny. We are always cautious about engine additives, but older vehicles up until 2005 are notorious for head gasket failures. This stuff seems to be working fine. The united front! You'll be glad you did!.

You may be able to do this
4/5

There have been far too many issues with head gaskets on various Subaru vehicles for too long, so Subaru thought they ought to make this product. In the case that you have an internal small leak, then you might benefit from this additive. I would definitely suggest using it when changing your The gas pump in my 2003 Forester had an internal leak, so it did not work. No matter what you do, Subaru engines are known for being high maintenance, so do yourself a favor and use this product according to the directions. If you do this now, you may be able to save thousands in the future.
