Questions & Answers

The word "rechargeable" appears on this battery. What's the best way to keep it charged?

Within the Fios unit, the battery is continually charged. Install it and then leave it alone for another five years. Mine was changed in five minutes, and it's now out of sight and out of mind.

It didn't even last two years, despite the fact that it was covered by a three-year warranty. What is the procedure for obtaining a warranty replacement?

What is the procedure for getting a guarantee?

How long does it take to charge a GS GT12080 battery?

We had been using the old one for at least 7 years and decided to replace it. It was easy to install after I found it on Amazon. Recharging an old battery is not something I would do.

Is it true that this weighs 16 oz as stated in the description? I'm trying to replace the same gt12080- hg, but it has to be at least 4-pounds. 5 lbs?

5 pounds appears to be a reasonable estimate. It's a good alternative to the Verizon battery that beeps.

They appear to last at least two weeks
3/5

Our family has been together for three years. Every two years or so, we buy these. Our Fios ONT has a three-year warranty. I'm not sure if it's just our house, if we have a charging issue, or if our system is overloading them. In any case, after only a few years, we've already gone through our third battery. br>br>With my most recent purchase, I considered purchasing the warranty that was offered, but I felt that doing so would be unfair to the warranty company because I already knew in advance that these have a relatively short service life.

The Beeping Has Come to an End
5/5

For days, I couldn't figure out where a beeping noise that sounded like my microwave came from; every 15 minutes, I'd hear a "beep" and wander around the house trying to figure out where it came from. The mystery was finally solved when it was discovered that the source of the problem was a dead battery in the Frontier equipment closet in my bedroom. The beep can be silenced for 24 hours, but it will reappear after that. br>br>I had to look up how to fix the problem on the internet, and I came across a YouTube video. I ordered this from Amazon after removing the battery because it was less expensive than getting it from my provider. When the power goes out, the battery apparently serves as a backup for your landline. I don't have a landline, and the beeping continues even after I removed it. br>br>Needless to say, I had to pay to replace something I'll never use. The removal of the old battery connections proved to be the most difficult task for me. The replacement, on the other hand, was simple and quick to install. Thank goodness there are no more beeps.

Don't hold your breath for anything extraordinary
3/5

I received the battery ahead of schedule, tightly packed in a small cardboard box with no padding, which was probably unnecessary. The battery was labeled with a sticker indicating that it was fully charged on December 14, 2017, and a generic 'Dear Valued Customer' form was included in the contents. br>The form included simple instructions, instructions for disposing of the old battery, and a request for positive feedback. br>There was no other product information or warranty information provided. br>The battery did not impress me; it has a dented corner and a less-than-perfect yellow top; however, the box was undamaged, so it appears that the battery was shipped in this condition. br>However, it is a suitable replacement; it fits and functions, and my FIOS interface no longer beeps. So I'm not going to bother with the hassle of returning it. However, I've changed my mind about this product. The old battery, which was an identical model purchased directly from Verizon, had a 'Top Charge Date' of 07/07/2015 written on it. So, even for this premium product, a three-year lifespan appears to be optimistic.

Is it possible to get a refurbished item for the same price as a new one? I just got the battery I needed last week, so I won't be returning it right now, but I'd like to exchange it for a brand new one
3/5

br>br>The unit arrived in a slightly tattered package; the carton box was not sealed, there was no instruction, and there were no protective plastic covers on both the negative and positive terminals on the top of the new battery. One of the terminals is so close to the battery that I have to nudge it to get the UPS's connecting wire onto it. A small dent in the corner of the battery. I believe I received a refurbished or returned item for a full price item. Very dissatisfied!.

Paying a little more has proven to be worthwhile (so far)

This is the second battery for our FIOS controller that I've ordered from Amazon. The first battery (which was not this model) lasted about four months before the unit began to beep. br> I've had it for a couple of months and it's been fine; however, because the battery is still new, I can't give it the 4 or 5 star rating that it may deserve in the future.

Rather than buying an overpriced Verizon replacement, get this
5/5

The battery was the same as the one that was already in there. This was purchased to replace the battery in my Fios device. In terms of size and voltage, this is an ideal replacement. It was the exact same brand and type as the one that had been there before. And it'll cost you $25 less than what Verizon wants to send you a replacement.

Since 2015, I've been using my old battery
5/5

I kept doing the same thing: resetting and resetting. After that dang darn alarm, it continued to turn on the next day. When I looked at the battery, I noticed it was from 2015, and I remembered hearing that batteries should be replaced every 5 years or so. As a result, I purchased this one, which fit perfectly and served as a replacement. br>By the way, the stupid thing is that Ziply Fiber uses this as a backup battery for the voice portion of the ONT in order to broadcast and make 911 calls in the event of a power outage. Because my house only has an internet plan, this backup battery for the ONT is essentially useless. But, whatever it is, just replace the battery, don't hear the beep again, and you're done.

It only lasted two and a half years
3/5

Warranty is a waste of money – The customer service is atrocious. In the middle of the year, I bought this battery. It's now 2018, and our FIOS system has failed. I tried to work out a warranty claim with GS YUASA because the warranty period is only three years long. When I first spoke with a customer service representative, he told me that their batteries usually last 5 years. 6 years (OK, but this one didn't), then proceeded to tell me that I wasn't properly resetting the FIOS equipment (I read her the instructions from the FIOS equipment that I was following - She insisted that I was still doing something incorrectly. ) After that, she shoved me into a voicemail box that was a deep, dark hole. When I tried calling back, no one was available to take my call. These people will not be supplying the next battery. Save money by opting for a less expensive option. The cost of these batteries will allow you to replace them twice.
