It is necessary to remove the rear windshield of the UTV each season
5/5

In our case, we have a newly purchased Polaris Ranger XP 1000 and want to leave it open until the cold weather sets in. In other words, we needed windshields we could remove. Our installation involved removing the Polaris roof from the trailer so that we could properly align the screws in their holes and attach the Polaris roof. We also had to remove the dealer-installed Polaris roof to get it in place given that it sits on bottom brackets. This is not too challenging, but there is an extra step and it is not something that can be easily accomplished There were large nuts on the larger screws that hold the metal bracket at the top of the top section, but they were hard to turn due to their tight fit, requiring an Allen wrench and an open ended wrench to turn. You should also not tighten them fully until you have positioned the window against the holes in the frame. If you need to keep it in place, you will have to press hard so the screw is long enough to reach the knob. Do this in the area where your toolbox is so you can see the tools. The instructions do not specify which tools are needed. There are photos and diagrams on the web that show how to install the lower brackets. The brackets screw into the inner surface of the window (facing the cab) and then the lower part of the brackets hang inside the cab with the middle horizontal part setting on the body. Since it is nonreturnable, you would not want to take out all the plastic until you know it's a good fit and would therefore be careful not to scratch it while you try it against its positions to ensure it's going to fit. In our case, everything lined up nicely. In order to attach the rubber molding and screw in the brackets, peel back the protective plastic coverings on both sides of the window. Just a few inches of plastic should be applied around edges, and once the window is installed, the plastic can then be removed. To install the rubber molding around the edges, it would have been better if they had mentioned using a rubber mallet. I read this tip in a review and it was great. You can see a thin metal strip running through the inner portion on each side of the U-shape It would be a pain every time you needed to use the vehicle if you had to remove them! Straps are said to be able to be attached to the windshield (which is not screwed in like the rear window) for securing it. It will be easier next time if we know what to do now.

Fits Polaris roofs but doesn't fit other roofs
3/5

The rear windshield that came with my 2018 Polaris Ranger 900 XP does not fit. It is difficult for the windshield to pass through the standard Polaris roof. The lower brackets of the windshield had to be lowered three eights of an inch so I redrew the holes in them three eights of an inch larger to make it fit. As an additional step, I had to saw part of the roof off to position the upper tabs. Fortunately, the windshield is nice once I get it on, but installing it was a pain in the ole butt.

In highlifters, the hook brackets for the middle hook are optional
5/5

Fastening knobs can be found on the inside. The back windshield is great to use, it fits perfectly, it's very tight and strong, and seals water and air tight. Dr. John says it does not fit the Polaris roof because the fastening knobs go on the inside of the Ranger and not on the outside as he has it. This is not to belittle the guy, but it comes with instruction because it's supposed to.

This pair of pants fits like a glove
5/5

The product was perfectly sized to fit my 2019 Polaris Ranger 900 Crew. Installing it took me less than an hour (putting the seal around the edge was the most time consuming part). The window had to be secured to the frame by removing the four screws from the roof and popping up the back of the roof. After the window was installed, the roof slid over it without any issues. As the previous reviewers said, the switch is located on the inside of the cab, not on the outside, as suggested by.

When you have a Polaris roof on your rig, the process isn't as easy as it seems
5/5

Unless there were some defects on the factory roof, this would have been a 5 star rating across the board. I am going to offer you a suggestion that will prevent a lot of headaches. The V notches need to be incorporated with the gasket as described in the instructions. It is best to call a friend for help after installing the window bracket. It is nearly impossible to install this on the factory roof if the angle brackets are present. Take out the four screws from the rear of the roof, then place a wedge on each side of the roof from the roll cage frame that is just beneath Attach the knobs to the windshield with the screws going into the cab, then slide the windshield into place. The world will be a more peaceful place.

Perfect fit for my 2020 Ranger xp 1000, no rattle or humming, and the light tent keeps the sun out so that it doesn't bother me too much
4/5

It also reduced the wind tremendously and dust, which is just A very easy surface to scratch. The cheaper seal I bought was my fault. While installing the seal on the exterior, I noticed the window was rubbing against my jeans and causing a haze to form. Once you have installed the seal and window, you should peel the protective layer from the edges and then let it dry. Then, remove the film from the center parts of the window after you have installed it.

Peel away the protective film only after it has been touched
5/5

Before you peel off the protective film, make sure you size it up. Once I peeled off one side, I turned over the paper and saw the sticker telling you to check first, which, of course, was the wrong size. I now have to stick with the mistake. It is not possible to return that film once it has been.

I love the fit, seal, and look of this! I could not have asked for a better fit for my 2021 Ranger 1000 Crew
5/5

Installing the seal is a little time consuming, but if you use a rubber mallet to work it into place, it is quite simple. My machine had a few missing nails when it arrived and the company wouldn't deal with me directly since I bought it on Amazon, but once I got in touch with Amazon customer service, they promptly sent me the nails Although you can take the Polaris roof on and off quickly in case of an emergency, it is not convenient to do so. This is a company I would like to do business with again.
