A thick aluminum plate is designed and welded very well from thick aluminum. In addition to being quick and simple, the installation can be tricky if you don't have the right tools or do not have a lot of mechanical knowledge. Torx bits and sockets, metric sockets, a socket extension (wobble type would be very useful), something to cut off the old skid plate retainer bar (by the back of the frame), and a ratcheting wrench will be required. I bought my skid plates from a different seller who offered different powder coating finishes for extra $, but they weren't available through this seller at the time I bought mine, which would make scratches and dents more noticeable.
It fits very well, and is a solid product. In order to bend the original hangar loop out of the way without having to cut it off, I bent it without having to cut it. Due to the use of panhead torx bolts on the rear, the only reason it does not get five stars is because it lacks a fifth star. Neither of them could be tightened all the way before they stripped out. There was a significant improvement in operation with the 25) and lock washers. The bolts for the front are different from those for the back, and I don't understand why. The skidplate may not be functional on the trail, but I do like the look, and it should be superior to the ineffective original equipment skidplate.
There are only two things I do not like about the instructions lack of descriptive text and my inability to easily install the software. watched a youtube video of someone else installing it and he made it look easy, but it took me a few hours and sweat and tears to get the front mount (engine bolt) in place. Additionally, they left out the fact that a torque wrench is needed to tighten the bolt to the proper torque. You also need to bend your rear skid plate hook with a hammer in order to get it to fit. This shouldn't matter in the end, but you might want to do it before installing. As a final note, I believe the skid plate to be excellent I read some reviews that said it increased volume and caused reverb from the engine. As for myself, I have not really noticed that.
The OEM plate does not provide the same level of coverage and protection as the advanced This is an easy to install program. This device allows you to get the wheels off the ground and perform maintenance tasks by using a moto jack, dirt bike stand, bucket, or even a milk crate. There is even a hole for draining the oil.
Easy to install, don't be scared off by the wire tab on the original frame, it can be easily broken away. Plates like this one provide solid protection and are well worth the purchase price.
This pan actually protects your engine. It is useless when used with factory pans. Bolts at the rear of the vehicle are poorly designed. Allen cap screws shall be used in place of torx.
Add this item to your motorcycle for the best results. The product is well made and.
It is a pretty easy process to Using the factory skid plate as a hook, I ground the wire off of my tw 200.
