Pit Posse and other similar groups are superior
5/5

In addition, solid rivets are possible. I had previously ordered the Pit Posse kit to break and rivet a 525 chain on a GSXR 750, and it did a great job breaking the chain, but a part to press the link on was a tight fit in the unit and became stuck. When I tried to hammer it out with a punch, it spread out like a rivet (steel is very soft), and I was unable to remove it. I didn't want to drill it out (plus the part was still broken), so I went ahead and ordered the Motion Pro PBR. This will do everything the Pit Posse does, but in a fraction of the size, with better steel and no problems riveting the chain together. The Pit Posse and most of the other kits can't hammer a solid rivet, but the PBR can. I would strongly suggest it.

You should only buy this chain breaker/rivet tool
5/5

My G650GS's rear sprocket appears to be nearing the end of its life, so I started buying the tools I'd need to replace the chain and sprockets. Chain breaker and rivet kits come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The majority of them are low-cost and unworthy of your money. The more expensive of the two chain breaker and rivet kits made by Motion Pro is the one you should get. br>br>What struck me about this kit is that it isn't designed for single use. (Good luck getting more than a single use out of the kits under $100. ) In fact, expect the pins to break or the threads to strip the first time around, leaving you unable to complete the project with the less expensive kits). It's supposed to be looked after, with the threads being cleaned and greased in between uses. It even came with a small jar of grease to assist you in this endeavor. br>br>This kit also included color instructions written in English and detailed pictures that showed you every step of the process, from breaking to pressing to riveting. It's been a long time since I bought a tool with such high-quality and well-organized instructions (in fact, I can't think of any other tool I own that even comes close)! The tool was packaged in its own box. br>br> It has fewer parts than a standard kit, but this is actually a benefit. Rather than making multiple anvils and press plates for the job, Motion Pro combined all of the features into a small block that you rotate on the breaker tool to perform the various functions. You won't have to waste time trying to figure out which adapters or parts you'll need for your project. The multi-faceted The letters "R, B, and P" are stenciled on this function block from this kit. To rivet, break, or press something, simply rotate the block to align the letters on the breaker tool. Fantastic! br>br>The Motion Pro kit is also one of those that has a pin that is strong enough to break the chain's roller pin. However, there is no need to subject the tool to such mistreatment. I simply ground the pin's head with an angle grinder first. br>br>This is an excellent kit for anyone who wants to replace their chains themselves. Please do not skimp on this Motion Pro kit and instead opt for a less expensive option. The extra money you spend now will save you time and frustration working with low-quality tools that will break or install your chain incorrectly. This PBR chain breaker tool from Motion Pro is one of their best!.

On the first day, I was a complete failure
3/5

The pin bent slightly the first time it was used. I was disappointed, but it was not the end of the world. Overall, I was able to successfully press out two rivets. The peening attachment on the new master link shattered on the first rivet while peening the rivets. It shattered into a million pieces that flew all over the garage. Only two of the three pieces were recovered by me. This attachment's design appears to be too small and ineffective for its intended purpose. br>br>I'm returning it tomorrow for a refund and moving on to the Motion pro Jumbo. Best of luck to me! br>br>I've seen a few reports of a failed drive bolt; the instructions don't mention it, but the bolt's threads must be lubricated before use. Any oil or antiseptic can be used. It'll suffice to say sieze. Reduced friction at the threads means less force is required, which means the drive bolt is more likely to be saved.

This is an incredible tool
5/5

This tool has made my life so much easier. I've tried lower-cost alternatives in the past and been sorely disappointed. br>br>The PBR is a clever and reliable design for all of the steps involved in replacing your motorcycle chain. Everything has been designed with the user in mind. In modes that require two hands, the silver block snaps into place with a small detent. The block also has right-angle ball recesses to ensure that everything is perfectly aligned. All you'll need is this tool and a 17 and 14mm wrench because it has a built-in but removable handle. Basically, this tool is a hardworking piece of art, with well-thought-out and simple-to-understand instructions. It comes in a neat, small, and durable case. br>br>Be careful, pressing the pins out without grinding off the head is tough on any tool. So, take out your grinder or a sawzall with an abrasive blade and remove the exposed rivet's top. br>br>The included handle could be a little longer for more torque, but that is easily fixed with a piece of pipe. br>br>Be careful not to damage parts of the chain that you want to keep (like when adjusting length)br>br>.
