Driven by 1/2".
No, I doubt it. Fork tubes with a diameter of 39 mm can be used in this socket. As a result, take your tubes and measure them. Alternatively, you can call a dealership and inquire about the size for your year and model in the parts department.
Hmmm. All I can say is that the fork nut is 1-inch in diameter. My 1989 883 and 2005 1200c Sportsters have fork nuts that are 3/8" (approximately 35mm). It performs admirably.
Like any other socket, it's made of steel.

I can't tell you how relieved I was the other day when I realized how much easier my life had become because of this tool. I was changing the fork oil and replacing the fork springs on my 2007 Sportster XL1200L with Progressive heavy duty springs. The reassembly proved to be far more difficult than the DIS-assembly. assembly, especially because the new springs were significantly stronger than the OEM and difficult to fully compress. I spent over an hour fiddling with the springs, compressing them the last 2 or 3 mm to seat the fork nut and catch the threads so it could screw down. No luck. I couldn't turn the fork cap nut while maintaining the last ounce of compression. Sockets slid, threatening to scratch my priceless chrome. Wrenches in a variety of configurations: The situation is the same, only worse. So, after watching a video on www. youtube. com, I decided to purchase this little gem. fixmyhog. They used one on com. It took two days for it to arrive. Thirty seconds after opening the package, I had my forks back together. In a literal sense.
br>br>Removing and reinstalling the fork caps was a breeze.
After removing the headlight nacelle from the 2003 Road King, this tool fits under the handlebars with a 1/2" breaker bar and easily removes the fork caps. There are no surprises here, and there's no reason to put off changing the oil in your front forks.
Great quality, simple to use; the only reason I gave it a three is because I had to order twice because the first time they didn't send it and I had to request a refund, causing me to waste time again. br>br>But aside from that, it's fantastic.
It does precisely what you want it to. On You Tube, people are wailing that it took them two hours to get the fork caps back down. It took me 15 minutes to complete both of these and a palm ratchet. It was chrome or blue anodized, and that was what I did with it. That would be more appealing.
This tool, which you can remove with a spaner wrench if you're working on your forks, is a must-have if you're working on them. Hopefully you'll be able to put it back on. To compress the spring, you'll still need to gain leverage. Great tool that pays for itself and saves you hundreds of dollars by allowing you to change your own fork oil and bushings!.
It does work on 39 mm HD fork nuts, and it's a great little socket to have in your toolbox if you're rebuilding 39 mm Harley Davidson fork tubes. However, if you're already reading this, you're probably aware of what you're doing.
This is a fantastic little plug. It's a perfect fit and makes torquing the fork caps without damaging them a breeze. To use the tool properly on older Dynas and Sportsters, you'll need to remove the headlamp bracket and handlebars, but this isn't a major hassle. This is a fantastic tool that I strongly recommend.
