As soon as you remove the cap from the canopy, the seal will be on the pickup rail and the seal will be on the cap.
A compression tool will compress the Ultra Cap Seal
This isn't something I would recommend. If this is not compressed enough, the truck bed and the topper will have too much gap between them. Using the one listed below, I was able to use it for 200 lbs or less. Ordering the 200 lbs or more, though, I I ordered this ESI Super Cap Seal 23 FT (1 1/2" Width x 1/2" Height x 23' Length) EPDM Rubber for Caps 200 lbs or Less from Amazon because it was Amazon's choice for "snugtop replacement parts."
Several hundred pounds go into making my cap (topper). If a cap is over 200#, they are probably referring to that. As long as it maintains a seal under heavy weight, then it is good. In other words, they're trying to tell you the foam is dense enough to support the weight and create a seal that is guaranteed not to The 200# may refer to the use you intend to give

used isopropyl alcohol to thoroughly clean my trash can and it was the WORST $40 I have that my schedule's been thrown out of whack by a faulty product, there's no going back. Is everything okay with you ESI? I suggest you DO NOT buy this!.
The gasket was applied, in 75 degrees. Weather and falling off were two of the issues, so I glued on some gasket glue and put on a cut board to hold on while it All worked well and no problems were encountered.
I like this seal a lot! There's an old (really old-- The tube was long enough, but I always have a little leftover, and it was thick enough to seal everything well, and I even raised a little of the cap (which I was going to have to do to get the lift gate to work with my newer tailgate).
A product made in the United States I'm excited! This is an amazing product, very thick (about 1/4 thick with a 300 lb shell plus gear mounted The rubber used in this product is built to last. This shell will last for as long as the truck has my shell on it. A few offroad trips have left me hammering my truck into the shell. It's amazing how much cushion there is between my truck and the shell. The team at Extruded Solutions did an excellent job. For the price you pay for this American made product, it is totally worth it. I've bought several of their other sealers, too. We offer good stuff at an affordable price.
What I have wanted my whole life is a cap seal. In comparison to the thin foam tape that my body shop used on my truck, this tape is far superior. Heavy tops certainly benefit from this type of top. Thank you for this amazing cap seal. It was much better than the thin foam tape that could not keep the heavy Gemtop from rub against the top of the truck bed, causing damage to the paint, and formation of rust.
It would have taken me an entire 8-hour day to write it Silverado (2011) foot bed. This was used to write my high school paper Probably the most heavy part of the camper is the shell. Although the seal seems rather thick, I'm happy to say it has been an effective way of keeping water out while insulating my bed from flexing. The seal appears to be a good choice.
Following 6 months of heavy rain and snow, keeping everything dry is crucial. I bought a used cap. A lot of old stuff needed to be removed. These are the words I used. A leak is not present.
My very old '93 Dodge Ram has an aluminum cap on the top that I used it to make a seal for. There have been no leaks so far. Material is easy to handle, cut, and adhere.
