Questions & Answers
The shell should have the seal attached to it. Clean the area at the bottom of the shell where the seal is attached thoroughly. You might need to use a little more sealant in the corners. It would be impractical to apply the seal to the bed rail because it would be damaged if the truck was used without the shell.
It's suggested that you attach it to your cap.
It will work with any truck and cap combination. I've used it on a 2013 F150 with a leer camper shell as well as a 1980 Plymouth Trailduster with a removable hard top. Both have a great fit.
A flat EPDM profile, such as the Premium Truck Cap Seal item B00NCCX6C2, is a better alternative.

The great seal followed the instructions and flipped the cap over. I used isopropyl alcohol after cleaning with alcohol. Three wipes were provided, but that wasn't enough. This was mounted on a truck topper with a 6 inch diameter. There was a lot to do on the sides and front of a 5 ft bed. It appears to be a good seal because the pad is thick. The only way to know is to wait and see. It's a good product, but it's a little on the pricey side for what you get.
The original basic foam seal with my bed cap always leaked and was just junk, so I installed this seal on a warmer day and it stuck to the cap insanely well, and I no longer have any leaks. This seal kit has made me very happy.
The material appears to be of good quality, and the adhesive, despite being thin, appears to be quite sticky. It came with cleaning pads and simple instructions that were helpful in cutting corners, which shouldn't matter too much given that it will be compressed for the majority of its life. I haven't tested it on my truck yet, but given how thick and spongy it is, I'm confident it will hold up.
This seal was installed on the camper shell of my Dodge Ram 1500. Even though the directions were carefully followed, there are some leaks at the corners. It's a step forward from what I had before, but there must be a way to improve the way the corners seal.
The three rows of protection are appealing to me. It shows on the side, which is fine because I won't have any more paint damage on my truck rails once I remove the camper. I installed this shell on my own, so I wasn't able to turn it over for perfect placement, but it worked out.
This appears to be a great product with clear instructions, but the adhesive is completely flaking off. Regrettably, this would have made it the best product for this application by far.
This seal is by far the most effective I've ever used. I would strongly suggest it.
On a Snug-It, I replaced a broken seal. Shell on top (Chevy 6). This one comes with a 5' Fleet side bed. To eliminate squeaks and protect against the elements, a good seal is necessary. I had about 6 inches left when I was finished.
