Anybody know how big the snatch block's hole is?

The hole has a diameter of one inch. 1/2 inch thick

Are the wheels as smooth as they should be? I don't want to harm the synthetic rope in any way. ?

Yes, the wheels are slick, and the anti-lock brakes are effective. The theft block is a perfect fit for synthetic rope; all you have to do is pay attention to the size.

Is a grease fitting available?

There are no grease fittings.

How big of a rope can it hold?

between 3/8 and 1/2 inch

I was using it as one of three snatch blocks to stretch the fence when one of the snap rings failed and it fell apart the first time I used it

The other two are from a different manufacturer and are in perfect condition. Now I just need to find a snapring and see if it will work.

I'm excited to incorporate it into my ATV winch kit. The pulley is very smooth and the side plates are thick steel. For winching, this is an absolute must-have.

It'll be interesting to see how it holds up over time. A sealed roller bearing in the center of the pulley would be nice, but it appears that none of the 8000lb snatch blocks have one. Pully is only supported by a steel spacer.
