Yes, you can use it with 3/8" synthetic rope; however, if you're also using wire rope, make sure there aren't any gouges or scrapes on the wire rope that could damage the synthetic rope.

This snatch block has been used to clear trees from the trail and to recover vehicles. It's great for my 10,000 pound bumper- a winch that is mounted While I can't speak for how those snatch blocks are being used, it's possible that they aren't using the equipment correctly. Make sure you understand what you're doing and the potential dangers that come with using this type of equipment.

Put the most weight on it; it's a nice product. It didn't appear to be distorted in any way. It should last for many years because of the zinc plating. The body appears to be made of steel that has been moderately hardened. Hooks or 3/4" shackles can be used to connect to a large hole.
