After my old winch with a wire line kept getting bond up on my 2012 Honda Foreman, I purchased one of these. I've been using it for snow removal and it's been great up until this year. The rope has broken on me twice this year, and the solenoid refuses to pull it in, but that is to be expected after 5 years of service. I installed one on my 2015 Honda Rubicon as well and have had no issues with it. I would buy this product again in a heartbeat.
The winch is fantastic. This winch is an incredible bargain! Synthetic rope with excellent workmanship and a great appearance! The winch line stopper, which is usually an extra $12, is also included. Anyone considering a winch larger than the 2500 should keep in mind that adding a pulley/snatch block doubles your pulling capacity without adding the weight of a larger winch. The pulley's multiplying force effectively doubles your pulling power at a low cost! 2500 is all you need for an ATV unless you're installing it on a side by side. Also, don't fall for the WARN winch sales pitch. Warn makes a great product, but it doesn't compare to the quality or ease of use of this KFI! Their exorbitant price is based solely on their brand name, not on a superior product; a little digging reveals that the gear construction and motors used are identical.
The winch has already shorted out after only a year of use. I had to unplug it from the battery in order for my ATV to start, which I could understand if I was constantly in deep water or mud, but I'm not. This winch was installed solely for the purpose of pulling a snowplow. I don't think I'd recommend it to anyone.
With the extra adapter for my Honda Rubicon, it was a breeze to install. The wiring kit was excellent, and it was long enough to allow for simple routing. The switch on the handlebar is very nice and handy. br>br>I've used it twice to remove my ATV and it worked flawlessly both times. br>br>Best deal on the market.
On my 16 Outlander XMR, it was fairly simple to install. All blacked out, it's very quiet and looks very sharp. I'm using it to make a plow. So far, everything is working well. The only way to know is to wait.
The winch is very nice. On my King quad 400, it's a perfect fit. Installing and wiring this winch will take at least a full day. It's noisy, and I believe it's overpriced.
All of the hardware I'll need to install this winch is also included, as well as detailed installation and operation instructions. It's a fantastic product that can't be beat.
NO STARS. THIS IS NOT A GOOD ITEM TO BUY. I'm sorry, but this is something I have to say. It worked fine the first time I used it after the time it took to install and use it, but it wouldn't pull back in the second time. Completely imprisoned. I didn't get a refund, and the manufacturer didn't back it up with a guarantee. I've spent all of my money and have yet to receive a winch. My husband and I have now purchased our second KFI winch, bringing our total to 700. We bought the KFI winch 4500 for it, and it, too, is now a boat anchor, and we still don't have any winches for either my bike or our side by side. What a load of nonsense. What are we paying for if the manufacturer will not give us a guarantee? br>br>We are apprehensive about purchasing any additional winches. I'm considering getting an IP68-rated Jeep winch. I still don't have the funds to make another payment or take a risk.
