I can't say enough about how easy it was and how well it fitted. In order to upgrade our TRX420FM, I was looking at spending $300 on a winch. It's 49 bucks for the traveler winch, so I should just buy it, he said. I would have bought the plate, but it wouldn't fit my Honda. It was a blessing that I could get this mounting plate for less than half of what my dealer wanted. Everything was very easy to install today, and the instructions came with the mount and were in English. INVEST IN THIS FOR AN OEM FIT AND DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH UNIVERSAL STUFF.
If you mount this, there is not much margin for error. The first time you assemble the winch, leave all the bolts loose. Tighten the frame bolts first, and make sure the brackets and winch are clear of anything that may block them. Install the winch in desired location after it has been disassembled and tightened. Because my winch touched the frame, I used the slop and the holes to keep it from touching. You can achieve a great deal with a little patience. It is hooked up to a Smittybuilt winch. The fit is good. (2018 Honda Foreman TRX 500FM1) Very happy with the final product.
This update is for 5/31/20, when I finally installed the 4500lb champion winch. This winch wouldn't work for this Rubicon in the first place. In order to clear all roadblocks the winch knob had to be on the left side facing the front of the ATV which I didn't like. Small surgery on the lower plastic shroud to clear the direction knob and cable terminals completed the installation. I have noted I do not intend to knock either the Champion 4500 lb. or the Winner 6500 lb. It does not matter whether it is the Winch or the Honda Rubicon. Select a pound that is less than yours. An ATV is required to have a winch.
told me there was only one mount that would work on the new 2015 Honda Rancher 420cc and it cost an arm and a leg I found the KFI winch mount while doing some research, and it worked like a charm. In these reviews, I would normally stop there, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a note describing which wire you needed to tap into (only on when the key is on) for your winch within the instructions. As a result, I feel that KFI goes above and beyond for each of their.
There are no gaps in the fit and the holes are all centered. The connection is VERY tight, but that makes for a very strong and secure one. Despite not having tried it, I'm willing to bet the Foreman would not break if I hung it from a tree on this mount. There is a bot running on a Painto In order to use this method, you must leave the plate loosely attached. You must attach the winch, which is pretty awkward. Then, you must screw the winch plate onto the winch. By keeping the winch back and out of the way, the machine is able to work much more efficiently. I do not fear a fish sticking out of my back window and going through it.
I used this system with my 2019 Honda Foreman Rubicon, and it worked perfectly. Winch installed is the Warn ProVantage 3500 I was very pleased with the physical mount. The wiring, although a little challenging, worked well. The compatibility features on pages like this one and others often lag.
Like a square peg in a round hole, it fits the 2014 Rubicon. Aside from the overall width of the plate and the tabbed mounting holes, nothing else lined up. In the end, everything else was just grind and weld. I will say that the powder coat was well done, as it took me really laying into the grinder to get it to show me metal in order to catch a good weld. Although it states in the manual that the item is suitable for a 2014 Rubicon, I'd not suggest it.
The winch fit perfectly into my 2015 Honda Foreman 500. I had to trim a small amount of plastic to allow the winch to fit, but it wasn't a big deal. I'm sure a more expensive winch would not have been a problem. In this case I had to drill a new hole because the fairlead fit one of the holes but not the other (again, probably because the winch is so cheap). It's a great product, I'm happy with it.
