It's currently stored, but it fits in slots inboard of the 5th wheel mount on the rail. I was able to mount both at the same time, but it will not fit yours in the way you described.
There is no way to swap out the ball! It's all made of the same material.
I have a 2016 Ram 2500, and it works great if you have the rails in your truck bed.
It was only the hitch that you attached to the existing rails. Rails for a fifth wheel were already in place.

Several reviews stated that the shipping box had been tampered with. mine too! I assumed that after so many reviews, someone would notice and make a change. nope! Because the safety pins fell out of the box due to the damage, I'm just requesting that Amazon send them to me. Aside from that, the device fit perfectly into the rails that had previously been used for a fifth wheel hitch. 20 centimeters from one end to the other. 5 inches in length and 22 inches in width from front to back 25 inches in length. Again, I haven't used it to pull yet, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well it fit into the existing slots. Oh, and it appears that the spring-loaded safety chain ubolt assembly is a nice feature. THANK YOU VERY MUCH IF SOMEONE COULD SEND ME THE SAFETY BOLTS WITH LOCKING PINS THAT FELL OUT OF THE DESTROYED BOX.
It is sufficient to show the image. Mine, like so many others, arrived in a state of disarray. However, it is usable because it will be abused in any case. br>And, like a few others, my rails didn't quite fit. But, rather than resorting to the extreme of using a "sledge hammer," I took measurements! My rails were not installed squarely, as it turned out. One rail was almost 1/4" off on one side, which prevented one leg from falling into the rail slot. br>br>Solution: br>br> Allow the fourth leg to drop into place by loosening all five rail mount bolts from underneath the truck. After that, re-tighten everything. The issue has been resolved. Two of the rail mount nuts were loose, so it was a good thing I had to go through that process!.
Crew Cab, Shortbed 2017 Ram 2500 Cummins This hitch comes highly recommended from me. Rails were already installed in the bed when I bought my truck. This was purchased in order for me to tow my flatbed and stock trailer. It functions admirably. The installation takes about three minutes. It's well-made, and the paint job is attractive. I would strongly suggest it.
We had to travel 2,200 miles round trip with a gooseneck flatbed. This hitch was purchased and installed in the rails by me. I needed assistance loading and unloading the 5th wheel hitch, but I was able to install this coupler on my own after that. The trip went off without a hitch, and I'm thinking about converting my fifth wheel camper to a gooseneck pin box and ditching the other coupler. This one is easier to use, move, and is quieter than a 5th wheel because it does not chuck. This is a product that I wholeheartedly endorse.
This spider is new to my 5th wheel hitch rails, and I just bought it. It's the right size. This spider's ball is painted and fixed, but it appears to be well made. It's not a particularly heavy item. I chose this route because both my father and I have 5th wheel hitches. I can easily transfer this hitch to his rig with minimal effort. It's well-constructed. br>br> It doesn't come with pins, but the ones from my Reese hitch worked perfectly.
With Prime, shipping was quick, and I was pleased to see that all four pins were included in the box. I was concerned that a pin would be missing after reading other reviews, so I ordered the entire set just in case, but it was not required. As a result, I have a spare set of mounting pins on hand in case I need them. I love how the hitch fits perfectly on my 2011 Dodge 2500. The hitch is well constructed and weighs only 70 pounds, making it easy to move when not in use.
This item was delivered to me this morning. It fit perfectly into my existing 5th wheel Reese rails, which I installed and have since used with two different 5th wheel hitches. I've had a few trucks with fifth-wheel rails on them. When properly installed, I've never had any problems with hitches dropping in. This one follows Anderson, Reese, and Anderson.
Great product, very well built. I do a lot of towing and I'm very pleased with how this product is constructed. However, when I received it, the box was in poor condition, barely holding the hitch in place, and two of the pins were missing, but I'm not complaining for the price I paid.
