I was able to tow my Jayco Eagle HT 27 with the gooseneck adapter 17". The trailer has ride dampening on the pin box, and it is 5 ft long. An important point to keep in mind is that the dampening system is located at the same place as the pre-flush Several holes in the top plate have been drilled, but there are still a few shock absorbers on the pin box which need to be checked before drilling four new ones. The second thing you should do if you need to drill new holes is to have extra drill bits. One step up bit was destroyed and a 3/4" bit was dulled to the point of being useless.
