How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

Fits 2007-2018 Jeep Wranglers with a fixed mount rear view camera. If the spokes of the wheels do not have a 12 o'clock opening on the spare, it will not fit. If you need a 1-2 o'clock opening or an upside-down installation, look for B088NLMWTP.
OEM (factory) or aftermarket display options are available. A composite (RCA) connection to the aftermarket display's video input is included.
You'll never have to worry about parking at night, on a cloudy, rainy day, or in a dark garage thanks to the HD color CCD's superior daytime and nighttime image crispness.
The security sensor camera is made of fully sealed glue filling craft and has an IP69 water resistance rating. It also has an on/off switch for the guide line and distance scale line.

Questions & Answers

Carry out both red sets. ?

Hello, all you have to do is connect a single set of wires. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Is this compatible with a manual transmission, in the sense that it will turn on automatically when the car is reversed?

Hello, yes, it works with a manual transmission and can turn on automatically when the car is put in reverse.

I'm curious as to where the backup camera's red and black wires go. ?

The cable coming out of the back of the camera should have a connector on it - The red and black wire connectors are connected to this, and the other end is connected to the headunit adapter.

So, will this camera work with the Alpine premium audio system with navigation (sub in the back cargo area) that came standard with the car? Is it true that this company has so many options?

That is the case with my 2014 JK Polar edition. Two adaptors are included, one of which plugs directly into the back of the factory Alpine 430N premium audio and works right out of the box after I turned on the backup camera via the OBD11 port using a Veepeak OBDCheck BLE Bluetooth 4. On my phone, I have an OBD2 scanner and the JScan app.

This camera produces excellent image quality
4/5

It's a fantastic camera with excellent image quality. Because the instructions were terrible and I'm not a mechanic, it took me a while to figure out how to make it work. To save time and money, use these steps after purchasing the camera if you have a radio 430n with Nav. You must first enable your radio to recognize the camera before proceeding with the installation. The majority of people suggest going to the dealer, but dealers either don't know what they're doing, don't want to do it, or charge exorbitantly for it. I purchased a Vgate icar pro obdII diagnostic (also available on Amazon) and a JScan license for my JK. Install the camera in the back, connect the power (red and black wires) to the back light wires, and run the video wire on the passenger side. Figure out which ones are correct. It was white with a purple stripe and black in my case. I've included a photo as an attachment. Because the color wire near the back light may change, you must remove the passenger taillight to be sure. Install the video connector on the radio supply and connect both video cables (the camera's and the one on the connector with a red cable) to it. By the way, you simply insulate the red wire that is attached. Your camera should work flawlessly; I learned the hard way but saved money in the process. For less than 150 dollars, I was able to install a nice camera. Without installation, the majority of jks cameras cost around $400. The dealer will take 800 dollars from you.

Installed on a 2013 JK Wrangler with the 430N head unit, this camera is excellent value for money
4/5

First and foremost, the installation instructions are a complete waste of time. YouTube (university) has a number of videos on the installation, as other reviews have stated. When I first connected the camera, all I saw was a black screen with the words "Check your surroundings. " " I knew the head unit was flashed correctly (huge thanks to the JSCAN app creators), so it had to be the camera. I double-checked all of my connections and found them to be in good working order. It turned out that the video adaptor that was provided for my application was incorrectly pinned. Another big thanks to JSCAN for demonstrating proper Jeep JK pin placement. Also, please do yourself a favor and spend the additional $20 - Avoid cutting into your reverse light wiring (infotainment) by spending $30 on a 12v power adaptor. They're around $25 on com). Sure, you'll have to run some wiring up to the front 12V (because it's switched and won't draw power from your battery when the Jeep is turned off), but you're already doing that with the video cable. br>br>The picture quality is excellent, and the LED reverse lights I installed provide more than enough light for a good nighttime picture. Overall, I'm very pleased and would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the directions and the pin issue on the video adaptor interface (which took me about a day to figure out). I hope this information will be useful to others in the future.

My Jeep has a view from behind it! Yay! In my Jeep Wrangler, I have a backup camera! In a 2016 JKU with 430 Navigation, I installed this
5/5

It took four hours to complete the installation, which included clean-up time and a meticulous soldered connection installation. br>br>I used the JScan app on my iPhone to flash my radio. The JScan App is a must-have for any JK owner. Let's talk about the setup. br>br> I didn't even bother to read the directions. I watched a lot of videos to learn how to install things, and reading the reviews on this product page was also very helpful. br>br>I used an infotainment cigarette lighter adapter to power the camera. com. I didn't have to cut any factory wires because of this - as evidenced by the reviews. THANK YOU SO MUCH! br>br>I had to run power back from the dash, but that was no problem. When it came to installing this camera, I didn't take any shortcuts. The dash, as well as the interior trim panels, were dismantled. There are also a lot of zip ties. You can't tell the camera isn't factory once the Jeep is put back together. I had hoped to run the wires through the black fabric on the tailgate, but eway provided some fabric tape, similar to hockey tape, to wrap the cables. It appears to be fantastic. br>br>There were two plugs included with different pin outs for the head unit connections; the one with the pins on the side of the plug was the correct adapter for me. Furthermore, the connectors and quality of the parts I received were superior to those shown on the product page. Without a doubt, I was impressed. The majority of the connections have been upgraded recently. br>br>Tip: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words " Remove the hvac vents from the center console, then push the window switches out the vent holes. If at all possible, avoid using a trim tool - Scratching the instrument panel and switch pod is a possibility. Some videos on how to remove the vents can be found on YouTube. br>br>I also drilled a hole in the grommet to the right of the spare tire carrier and ran the camera wire through there rather than through the exhaust vent as most YouTube videos show. Don't pull out that vent, just in case. It's finished when the tabs break. I was able to save the part thanks to some engineering, but do yourself a favor and don't pull it out for more access. br>br>Another topic that I didn't see mentioned anywhere is the "red wire. " A red wire emerges from the RCA plug and is connected to the head unit via the supplied adapter. If you have an original equipment manufacturer radio, insulate the wire and continue on your way. There isn't any reason to do so. At least, that's how it works for me with my automatic. br>br>Wishing you the best of luck with your installation! Thank you! br>br>.

It is something I strongly suggest
5/5

For Jeep Wranglers with factory wheels, this is a great option. To activate the camera, I used the Appcar DiagFCA software along with an OBDLink SX USB cable. I spent less than $170 on a good camera and did my own PCM programming. Not bad. To finish the cover, I cut a hole in it and used curtain grommets.
