Any hitch that is classified as a class three.
Yes, it is possible. You can simply leave it in place once it's mounted to your receiver hitch. I haven't heard any bumping or knocking since I installed mine; it's great and easy to set up.
I would not recommend this product because it would not stay in place and thus never worked.
It's quite gleaming, but a magnet sticks to it very well, indicating that it's not aluminum or white metal. It appears to be polished steel with standard black set screws, in my opinion. So far, it appears to work well, and I like that it can simply be left on the hitch without obstructing the pin hole, allowing me to continue using my locking pin.

Although I understand that it is intended to be universal, the fit could be improved - It's a little too big, and you have to tighten the set screws a lot to keep it from wobbling. The shims don't want to go in at first, but once you get them started and whack them in with a mallet, they won't back out. br>br>I'd give it three stars because it's a little pricey and the design isn't the best, but it could be five stars if compared to other versions. I bought a more common "anti wobble" plate and promptly returned it because it does nothing at all and is a complete rip-off. This version made me a lot happier in the end.
rusts. It's a fantastic idea, but it might not work with your mount. There wasn't enough room for this tightener with my Curt receiver and current mount. I'm going to use it on the Pro series cargo rack, which appears to fit with a little pounding. I'll never buy a tightener that requires a wrench to remove, but if you have a longer mount than mine, this is a good idea. br>Update: I purchased a welded straight ball mount, which fits perfectly. Takes 100% of the slop off the mount and most importantly does not require a wrench unlike other hitch tighteners. br>br>NEXT UPDATE: br>br>NEXT UPDATE: br>br>NEXT U This has continued to work, but it is clearly not aluminum and has rusted, contrary to other comments.
I bought the GenY hitch receiver and I'm really happy with it. But, like the second, this is my third GenY purchase, and it's a flop. As you can see in the photo, there are two shims on the top and one on the side. To tighten my own hitch in my receiver, I need one with a shim on both the top and bottom, not just the side. Next, I tried tightening my Smittybilt hitch step. The set screws were too short to go out far enough to pin to the step, so this was also a failure. Also, because this is made of aluminum, even a small amount of work with it resulted in scraps or shavings. It was time to call it quits. I responded by returning it. br>br>GenY receiver hitches appear to be very good. However, they must remain with them and leave the accessories to companies that are experienced in this field.
It takes some tinkering to get it to tighten up. I've only used it three times so far. After the third time, it loosened up; I may figure out a better way to keep it tight as I use it more. One thing I've noticed is that when you push it in, the hitch goes in, and when you pull it out, the hitch comes out. It'll be necessary to keep the hitch in place while inserting the anti-rattle device. The set screws stayed tight, as indicated by the instructions.
It was a fantastic idea, but it didn't work out. Between the trailer hitch housing and the shaft of the trailer ball mount assembly, there was insufficient clearance. This made it impossible for the ball mount to fully insert into the hitch (just enough to align the holes for the locking pin to be inserted). I even used a small sledgehammer to add a little more force, but it was in vain. I was worried that if I used too much force, the ball mount would never come out or, worse, the hitch assembly's housing would split. br>br>I received this at the last minute before our trip, so I had to improvise by wrapping the ball mount assembly shaft in fiberglass tape, just enough to prevent play and dampen the rattle noise.
Use this to keep the hitch pin from elongating and shifting on our camper's weight distribution hitch. When pulling out and stopping, it fits snugly and prevents the hitch from sliding.
For worn and wabbly hitches, this is a fantastic option. Mine was too tight to use, but it might come in handy in a few years. br>br>This outperforms a slew of other obvious add-ons. Nobody notices this because it blends in. br>br>This product comes highly recommended.
Extremely sturdy product that is much heavier than anticipated. My drop hitch has a 45-degree angle, so I couldn't use it as intended. It fit my standard ball mount very well and was quick and easy to tighten and remove. It has a degree brace connecting the horizontal and vertical shanks of the hitch, which prevents the device from sliding fully onto the shank. The set screws were said to be too short to reach the shank effectively in a few reviews. This did not happen to me with any of my mounts. It fit perfectly, and I only had to tighten the set screws a little to get them to grip. I'd buy another of these just for the build quality.
